no stock in VIC, but can order for delivery. not sure if this is worth the effort to order and return to the store for $11

  • +3

i can return my last order then pick up my new order at the same time

    • I'm the same.

  • +5

Still waiting on the brushless drill combo to drop down

    • +2

      Me too

      • +2

Me three. Post it when it does 😁

    • +1

It doesn't look like Bunnings is gonna price match the brushless drill/driver kit. I thought they would have taken action already at this point?

I'm gonna go to Aldi tomorrow and pick up the kit.

      • Yea I think all hope is lost. Shame really, it would have been pounced on the most.

        Still at $229

        • +1

I think it may be a good thing. Even though some Ozito tools would be nice because of all the batteries I have, in general I wanna support whoever is worth supporting. In this case, Aldi deserves my money, and Bunnings way less so.

  • +9

    Thanks Aldi

  • -2

    Is this a dup?

    • +1

      $89 back then

    • +2

      👮

  • +1

Did Bunnings match the jigsaw? I could use one.

    • No unfortunately

  • Thanks ordered.. glad i didn't order one of those Amazon chainsaws in the last sale

    • +3

I actually bought one of those no name ones from Amazon a little while back, only really use it camping once or twice a year and these weren't on sale. Plus it was only about $35.

Better than I expected tbh. Spare chain, 2 batteries, claims to have brushless motor. 3D printer is handy to have though, had to print a blade cover, and have now made an adaptor to use my Ozito batteries on it.

  • -1

Can you use this to cut that crap big pieces of wood from coles express into smaller pieces?

    • +1

I'd say it 'could' but if you're so inclined on keeping your fingers, I probably wouldn't

  • +1

do they allow you to return and repurchase at the lower price?

    • +1

Have you used the other one? Buy this one and return it with the other receipt.

      • No, just collected it yesterday but it's out of stock all over eastern Melbourne.

        • How did you go with your return? Mine just arrived today (bought it the morning before the price lowered) and I was hoping to do the same

          • +2

@Cuddlah: I haven't tried yet. I think I'll just accept the original price I paid.

            • +1

@unity1: Ahh okay no worries… FYI, I just took mine back this morning (still in the delivery packaging) and refunded/rebought in under 5 minutes - they didn't even open the package to check what was in there :)

  • -2

    Work on weeds?

    • +1

I would say it's more for small to medium branches. Nothing to thin.

      • Thanks.

  • +1

Coupled it with this mixer kit deal because I don’t have a battery/charger.

Cheaper than the Ryobi pruning saw skin on its own and free delivery.

    • +2

2.5Ah Battery & Charger $19.98. for the low budget(and equally low demand) start out to the range.

Ozito batteries seem to have a habit of multiplying and soon they're everywhere!

  • +1

    Just get the chainsaw

  • +8

Just take the receipt in and no need to do an exchange they just make a refund. I had this with a planer and the staffmember said that as long as it was within a short period of time they just do it, so hope it sticks this time.

    • Would it work with a live chat too?

      • +1

Worth a try tbh. I guess I'm in Bunnings so much it made no difference… I know I have a problem hahaha

  • +3

there's stock in Maribyrnong if anyone is interested. just picked up one myself for cc

  • Right timing as my shrubs are overgrown. Bought one, thanks OP.

  • +3

Sheesh… bought one this morning at $89 and by the arvo it depreciated $11.

Going to go get my $11 back.

    • +1

Did click and collect. Waited for it to be ready and my online order to be delivered.

Went to the click and collect store, returned my delivery and collected my click and collect.

$11 in my pocket and a couple of snags on the way out all for Telethon.

  • I bought it at full price a few months back what can I do?

    • +1

Buy this one, then return it with the full price receipt. To be safe, wait for it to revert back to full price then return.

      • Does it matter that it's been two months?

      • +1

I wouldn't wait till it reverts to full price. They will just refund the amount on the receipt/the difference. I think their returns policy is 30 days for general goods but can't seem to see it on their website anymore so might have changed but would say the quicker it's returned the more likely they would be to do the refund of price difference.

        • i have returned stuff with 3 year old receipts. for power tools it’s best if the box is still sealed.

    • +4

Forget about it, your time is more valuable.

You thought it was worthwhile having at full price, that doesn't change now that it's discounted. Is it really worth worrying about a missed discount? I miss discounts all the time, that's life 🤷‍♂️

      • +9

        Sorry, not the OzB way.

      • Circumstancial, if you would be going into the store anyway I think it would be worth the 2-3mins of time to get the price difference especially since you only need the receipt.

  • Good thing it's brushless.

  • Thanks OP, been waiting for the price to drop. Finally got one!

  • +2

I'm waiting for a good deal on a lightsaber to sort out all my gardening needs.

  • +1

Is this much better than using a reciprocating saw?

    • Think of your reciprocating saw as a jack of all trades and master of none. Where is this is purely for one job cutting/pruning wood.

      • but oftentimes better than a master of one.

      • this is better than a sawsall when the zombies come

    • Much more fun and dangerous than a reciprocating saw. Also need to constantly lubricate the chain and bar. Storage can be a bit messy.

  • +7

If you already have Aldi batteries, it's only $49 and probably not brushless, but it should be fine for irregular use.
    https://www.aldi.com.au/product/ferrex-20v-mini-chainsaw-ski…

If you need a new battery mower, then the Ali one comes with batteries and charger. It's brushless mower run by 2x 20V.
    https://www.aldi.com.au/product/ferrex-2x20v-cordless-lawn-m…

Together is $248 for a mower and a pruner with a charger and 2 batteries. It's better deal than Bunnings if you don't mine another ecosystem.

  • -1

Damn not sure if I cancel order it's been 5 days since ordered at $89

  • +4

For anyone with arthritis in their arms and/or hands, but still tries to get their green thumb going, I can say this mini chainsaw is fantastic.

It's light enough that my hands and arms don't crap out after 5 minutes, and does a good job of cutting the branches I need cut.

It does not replace a full size chainsaw, and it won't cut through a giant tree (well it would, but it would take ages and some messy cuts)

This is great for tinkering in the garden and not letting arthritis win :)

  • Can anybody comment on what battery size they use with this and how long you can get out of it? Trying to figure out what battery size to buy with this.

    • +2

5AH gives me approx 100-150 cuts of 1-2" wood. Probably equates to 30-40 minutes of runtime if you're constantly going at it

    • The 3 batteries 4AH for $99 is a good deal.

  • great price but stock in melbourne seems to be the let down.

  • +3

I resisted at $89, you got me at $78. Had to go delivery as stock is non existent.

  • Thank you, ordered one to pick up :)

  • +2

Jumped on the ebike rode to bunnings and replaced the unopened $89 item from last week and repurchased the same for $78. I mean, $11 is $11 and better in my pocket.

  • +1

    Must resist…

  • I have the Ozito PXC 36V 2 x 18V 356mm 14" Brushless Chainsaw. Is it worth purhcaing this Brushless Pruning Chainsaw?

    • +1

Why? The chainsaw will cut way more and had double the output? Only advantage of the smaller chainsaw is you can use it one handed and easier to store. Defeats the purpose if you have both though.

    • +1

I have the same 14" 36v chainsaw and I am also considering getting this for the ease of smaller cuts and also not having to lug the big chainsaw out for small jobs (it sits in my camper trailer)

    • +1

I asked basically the same question last deal. I decided that this will fill a niche for general pruning that I wouldn't need to bust out the chainsaw for.

    • +1

Thanks everyone. Based on all your comments, I decided to order one.

  • Thanks OP! Ordered one for pickup.

  • Thanks OP, got one for each hand to survive the zombie apocalypse.

  • Thanks OP bought one.

For those who don't have battery & charger and wanting one please DM me, located near Box Hill VIC. Unused from all the tools I've bought and happy to sell.

  • I bought one two days ago, can they refund?

    • Try this

    • You can take it back to the shop — they’ll refund the full amount, and you can repurchase it at the new price.

  • Damn, i still have it brand new in box, unopened, i bought the one that came with the battery for $129?

    • I bought that 2.5.ah battery and charger for $19.98, all up for $97.98 maybe you can claim the $30 back

  • Is this worth getting over the ones on ali or amazon that come with batteries and extra chains?
understand there may a safety factor/warranty to factor in

    • +1

I'll refer to my previous comment

If it's cheap enough and only going to have very light usage then may be ok. One other thing is they all seem to claim having 2000mAh batteries, I opened mine up and they only have 1300mAh cells so I don't think you'll get very long runtime out of them but you do get 2, just slow to recharge. Makita style so if you already have those could use instead, otherwise an adaptor to use whatever ecosystem you use is a good idea.

      • thanks for taking the time to share!

i have the pole pruner already and need to so some close/light stuff. the cheapos would seem ok for that

  • Shame these dont have extendable capability.

Need to trim some slender weevers on a difficult position
    Any recommendations?

    • Sounds like it's the pole pruner you need, unfortunately not on sale (they've had a promo kit with battery and chainsaw and hedgetrimmer heads that was decent value)

  • Just picked this up from Bunnings. Looks like the box might’ve been opened, the sealing tape didn’t appear new, and the chainsaw wasn’t in a plastic bag like you would expect with a new item. Can anyone confirm if it’s normally packed in a plastic bag? Thanks

    • +1

No bag for mine, but my tape.was perfect still

      • +1

Ok thanks. Mine seems to be display piece as it has some scratches on the top chain cover. Unfortunately they don’t have any sticks left else I would have returned it.

  • Ordered 15/10 for delivery and just got an SMS saying no stock, order cancelled.

    • My order is sitting at "Ready for delivery". What was your order status before it was cancelled?

      • I didn’t look at the status before. It now says 'Cancelled'.
BUT… I went back and changed my store to one on the other side of Sydney that had stock, and ordered another one. Just received a message that it's been shipped from Newcastle. Can't work it all out!

  • Saw 2x new in box on shelf in O'Connor WA today

    • Maybe gone now according to site stock levels, but looks like there should still be stock at Rockingham (and Northam). I'm still able to order for delivery as well.

  • It's showing $129 for me, deal expired?

    • yes, it's expired
