Defective Kamrui Essenx E2, Anything I Can Try or Just Return It

Hi all, I was excited to receive Kamrui Essenx E2 that I bought during Prime Day. I turned it on and follow the Windows 11 setup process. I didn't plug in ethernet cord (there is a sticker covering the ethernet port advising not to plug in ethernet cord during the first time setup, and I don't plan to connect it via ethernet cord anyway). After regional settings, Windows went to check updates and I left the desk.

When I went back, the screen was blank and I couldn't bring it back on until I do a hard turn off and turn it on again. Since then, it is a hit and miss whether turning it on will turn on the monitor. And when the monitor is on, it shows some error as in the video below.

Is there anything I can try to fix this? I tried to get into the bios if thinking I might reinstall Windows but I wasn't successful to go to the bios. I don't see any (physical) reset button either.

Or should I just return it? I lose my confidence for a replacement … might be just a refund?

Any feedback will be appreciated. TIA

    I would just start the returns process, don't bother fixing it.

    My Kamrui AK1 Plus has USB port issues — storage that I plug into one of the USB3 ports never gets detected by Windows and causes the OS to continually eject and re-mount the drive in a loop. I'm guessing KAMRUI machines have some terrible QC and might have some manufacturing defects (I won't be buying them again, even though I only paid $99 for mine)

    looks like a problem with the ssd

    try reinitialsing it and reinstall windows.

  • Amazon has a good return process. Initiate a return, and you'll probably have a new one tomorrow, worst case Monday. Otherwise just ask for a refund. I doubt they'll ask for it back so then you can play around with it a bit more.

    From the reviews I think you probably just got unlucky.

  • Thanks all, I initiated the return and asked for refund. Drop the item at collection point and waiting for the refund now.

    I don't understand when people say that they don't ask for it back. I didn't even talk to a customer service officer. And isn't refund issued only when the good is back at their system?

      They definitel won't ask for the defective item to be sent back if it's a perishable item like food, or fragile goods that won't survive shipping. For high value gadgets and electronics they will usually ask for it to be returned.

      Yes the refund only comes when they've scanned the item back at the fulfilment center.
