silent keys preferably.
That's a really subjective thing, everyone has different preferences. I'm partial to Corsair keyboards personally, you may or may not like them.
See if you have a large JB Hifi or HN nearby that has a decent computing section to go have a play on display units.
If you were referring to the J. Burrows MK450 from Officeworks, I have not used it, but here's my take based on my experience using tons of different keyboards (office ones and gaming ones):
Split keyboards don't work for people who don't type using the standard gesture (one finger covers one column of keys, and fingertip fingers cover two columns each).
Wireless can be a bit hit or miss, depending on interference. Keyboards use the 2.4GHz frequency, and there's too much noise on this frequency (Wi-Fi, other wireless devices, Bluetooth, microwave, USB 3 cables that aren't shielded properly). Only those keyboards that able to shift frequency slightly to avoid noise perform well (Logitech is a lot more reliable than other brands I've used).
Unless you absolutely have to get a wireless keyboard, I think a wired keyboard isn't much worse — no need for batteries/recharging, and they don't tend to move much, so the cable isn't too annoying.
Rubber dome keyboards don't feel good in general. There are so many cheap mechanical keyboards around (check Kogan/Amazon), it might be a good idea to browse those $50 mechanical keyboards with Red or Brown switches — those aren't too noisy.
logitech
pebblekeys to go 2. got it for under $99 on amazon it's been amazng.Everyday use at a desk, with a laptop, on the go, etc? Mechanical or not? How quiet/silent do you want? Any particular layouts you want (standard, TKL - ie without numberpad, etc)?
It's incredibly subjective so maybe proviide a bit more colour as to the use case otherwise you'll just get recommended a generic Logitech keyboard.
ps. Did you mean Logitech MK540 or the J Borrows MK450? If the logitech, I personally am not a fan of this as my work bought a bunch of the MK545 advanced sets for our new office and a few of us opened them and hated it (I found the keyboard fatiguing to use; but quiet) and as a result we had >10 BNIB sitting there taking up space in our cupboard.
anything with CHERRY MX BLUE Switch
Ducky Origin Vintage PBT Mechanical Keyboard Silent Red
Looks the part for work too. Otherwise any Ducky I highly recommend. Silent Pink switches also great for work purposes.
Ducky! brings back memories of when you were looking for your first budget keyboard.
at the time Ducky was too expensive for me, so I went with a Qisan Magicforce 68 instead for around $60. it held up amazingly and covered that entire period before I discovered custom mechanical keyboards.
New work keyboard: Aula f75 from AliExpress/amazon/wherever
as much as I enjoyed the ice vein switches, I swapped them out for Akko Penguin Switches and my colleagues are happy.
~$110 all up.
This is great value at $35 and includes a free microphone.
