This XBox 360 version of the Silent Hill: HD Collection is widely regarded as the worst possible way to play these games, as the devs bungled a whole heap of things with this release.
It was made from unfinished beta code, because Konami didn't preserve the original source code, so it has a lot of visual and sound bugs, runs poorly, a lot of textures are replaced poorly, etc).
Also heard that when a patch was made to fix things, it was only given to the PS3 version. The Xbox 360 never got patched.

If you have access to a PC or a PC handheld, I recommend this for SH2. https://enhanced.townofsilenthill.com/SH2/. I did this on my steam deck and played through the whole game start to finish and it was excellent and the enhanced assets and controller support really helped. I had to use a Reddit guide to install it. I also installed SH3 using the same guide and played through that no dramas. It's pretty straightforward if your on windows.
I concur with this esteemed scholar — fan remastered projects are the way. Same goes for RE4 if you want the iconic original flavour and an absence of yellow paint design.
