everywhere on the listing says Enamelled Cast Iron though

    • +1

You might have clicked a very different link to me, it very clearly say steel over and over

      • +4

yep, i clicked the rice pot. ignore me :)

  • +16

    Didn't expect this cross-over

    • +1

We should keep a list of unexpected cross over bargains!

So, they do a collaboration with pokemon, a franchise known for being colourful. Le Creuset are famous for their charizard/charmanderlike orange enamelled cookware. The colab? Grey with pikachu silhouettes… There should be a number of firings in each camp I imagine.

    • +4

      I so agree

    • +7

Yep. Should have been fking yellow. Honestly a sin.

      Their lineup is cooked.

    • +4

I kind of get it. With boring grey you can pretend to be a mature adult showing of her $200 pot to her friends without being embarrassed to still having a pokemon fetish.

It's the same as when you grow up you have to stop wearing your pilachu onside PJs. Atleast that's what my wife said when she confiscated them on my 30th birthday.

      • +1

Yeah, but across the range. Unless this is subtle advertisement for a detective pikachu noir show in the style of Batman The Animated Series it isn't doing either side of the collaboration any favours. You could even argue it's worse since they do have a good one and anyone can immediately create a better showing off the cuff: Squirtle rice/pressure cooker in blue, Charmander frying pan in orange, ludicrously overpriced bulbasaur salad dish in green G1 starters with franchise face induction safe pikachu. Ezpz.

Can this be used to cook things other than Pokemon as well?

    • +4

      Yeah, can cook Digimon

      • +2

        Can confirm, Digimon is cooked.

  • +4

Missing out big time on not making it white with red lid

  • +3

    Gotta collect 'em all!

  • +2

Hey y’all, Charli XCX here! Due to a packaging error, we can’t sell 3000 Pokemon Le Creuset cookware sets

    • +1

Every damn time I think of Le creuset I think of this

  • +2

    Gotto cook them all

  • +1

Pisstakes aside, is this any good?

  • Is 20cm adequate for a family of 4 or too small?

    • +1

I have their 20cm cast iron pot and I think it'd be too small for 4 and best suited for 2. Good if you're cooking smaller portions for 4 if that's what you're looking for, stuff like pasta sauce e.g. not the main dish

    • +2

Too small, but also this is enamel on steel which really should only be used for very watery things like boiling water or soup etc. You wouldn't want to use for like curries etc. The base is very thin. You'd want a cast iron pot, 24cm or up I'd say

  • +6

Not arguing with this deal but just for awareness, this series is manufactured in Thailand.
It isn't the French manufactured cast-iron casseroles which cost $250 plus on sale and retail for around $400.

Figured people will know this already but just in case :)

  • Good clearance but this is not real le creuset francaise

  • pokemon…. casserole? i dont think that'll taste quite nice.

    • You never know until you try it…

    • Got to be better than koala

  • +1

Enamelled Carbon Steel - no thanks. Cheap stuff.

    M… Where's the Charizard version?

    • +1

Enamelled Carbon Steel doesn't sound cheap, why is it cheap stuff?

      • +1

Far inferior than enamel cast iron. Enameled carbon steel is the cheap go to option in Asia for many years.

        They don't heat very evenly.

Suspect the le creuset one is with a slightly thicker sheet of metal, and might help with no even heating.

Rice pot is cast iron. If anything go with the rice pot.

  • I’m not getting the extra 20% off. Ozbargained?

  • Ugly

  • +1

    Gotta cook em all

  • looks good but not getting the 20% off at checkout

  • Are there cook books on how to cook Pokémons with this Pokémon casserole? 🥲

  • I was keen until I realised it’s not cast iron.
