jokes aside, I purchased Apple refurbished multiple times and they look and feel brand new, the only difference is the box
got burned by a refurb ipod that died after 13 months. still salty

Depends on the needs, some need 256. I would also go with 128GB.
I bought the 128GB gen11 for ~450 from OfficeWorks. Yes, 128GB, but I still don't see any scenarios where I need 256GB on an iPad. Phone - yes. Laptop - yes, but not a tablet.

I bought Ipad air 2 for about $600…. used it for like 7 years & sold on ebay for $120.
I would happily buy an refurbished apple product from apple website.
