[NSW] Port Jackson Fig Bonsai 10+ Yrs Old in Ceramic Pot $32.50 in-Store Only @ Penjing at Robertson (Robertson)

360

Just snagged a stunning, established Port Jackson Fig Bonsai for under $35 in a bonsai pot from a place in Robertson, NSW! The trunk size easily validates the 10+ year age claim…given the price deemed a BARGAIN!

Photo of bonsai I picked up https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/133301/124798/fig-1.pn…
Others https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/133301/124800/img_7977… & https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/133301/124799/img_7976…

Hope this helps! I did see a lot of other sizes & some were in plastic pots which were more advanced.

The seller is penjingatrobertson.com had lots of other figs, big and small. I picked a small one to grow out. Amazing value if you're into bonsai that is….Not sure if they ship you could check the site or call to check

I once bought a bonsai and didn't bonsai it and now it's like a kind of .. medium small tree. It's cool and we've been through a lot together.

By the time I drive there and back

It will be a fully grown tree

In the wild these guys live 150 to 200 years and can grow 30 to 60m; you’ve got plenty of time to get there. A bonsai will live decades even a century.

First 10 years are establishing root and trunk in its lifecycle; they are babies still.

      Bonsai in the pot—
by the time I reach my home,
      forest crowns the road.

Age is only 10% of the battle. Any chance you can share a picture of your tree OP?

And were there other trees for that price? Any pictures of them?

You could probably upload a photo to https://imgbb.com/
No need to register, just click the [Start Uploading] button and follow the bouncing ball. It generates a link. Test the link before posting. I like to set a lifespan on the link, so my rubbish doesn't waste their server space for too long.

In Ozbargain click on "My Account" then the files tab then upload file. Then click the image you just uploaded and copy the URL.

You can do it from your phone’s photo library as well. Irrespective of whether from the phone or computer you’re still restricted to only uploading them one at a time (you don’t even have to ask me how I know…).

    Ten years, small and cheap—
roots wait for a gentle hand,
    care will make it sing.

My go to in Sydney is Bonsai Art in Belrose. Bonsai South if you are on the other end of the city is good too.

  • Hey OzB, Just a quick update…On arriving home I realised on the receipt it says it's a Port Jackson Fig (not a Morten Bay Fig). I've updated the listing to reflect…On doing a bit of research doesn't seem to be all that much difference….I'm currently uploading the pics I have so give us 10-15mins

  • Ok I've added photo links in the listing, sorry bout newbies…Thanks to @Lizard Spock for the tip :)
