I was looking for a Robot Vacuum and found this deal.

It looks far lower than the RRP, you can of course price match somewhere else, but I appreciate the convenience that amazon offers.

It seems to be only $20 more expensive in Kogan, so either they also reduced the price or the RRP is a bit exagerated.

Anyway, looks like a good deal to me and I thought about sharing.

Thanks,

  • $249 for those wondering, looks like it is matching the official store price / discount. https://roborockstore.com.au/products/roborock-q7b?srsltid=A…

    • Thanks, possibly you could get a referral code and get further %10 in the official store as well.

  • One of the Amazon reviews says that the battery is half sized which is why it's cheap. Would be ok for a single bedroom unit.

I have this unit and it cleans 4 bedroom, rumpus plus bath, 90 m2 carpet area at max vaccum power.
      Battery is no issue.

    • I bought the Q7B for my parents and it definitely seems to be smaller in size and thus have a smaller battery than my Q7 Max+. The reduced battery life is quite noticeable if you have a house with lots of carpet, but for an apartment it should be no issues at all.

Is this good for hard floors wood?

    • I use it for just that. Only annoyance is the emptying of the bin and it’s prone to have things become stuck due to the small I let and a filter door. I generally vac/mop with it and can’t complain otherwise for the money.

  • Highly recommend getting something with a dock that auto-empties the robot. Onboard dust compartments are tiny and would need to be manually emptied after every use.

    • I have the dock, but I recently noticed that the machines doesn’t collect a lot of dust. Maybe mine is faulty

      • Check the dust compartment and the brushes underneath the robot, possibly a blockage or something not working as intended. Otherwise, if you have a Roborock S7 there's a very specific way the cover underneath has to be mounted for it to use the empty dust bin function correctly. Not sure if this happens on other models.

    • Any particular product you would recommend?

My only experience is with Lubluelu SL60D. It's fine as an intro to robot vacs, but now I want more :)

Particularly better mopping, auto-water fill and mop cleaning, plus better obstacle avoidance would be my main upgrades when I get another at some point.

    • How often are you vacuuming? I’ve got a large area downstairs and a dog but the dust compartment is never full after its daily vac! Maybe try vacuuming more often?

    • I agree

  • Note that it's worth having a look at the threshold height as this will have significant impact of you have rugs all over the place

  • That's cheap as I paid for the same few months back for $349 at Amazon as well. Imo, it's a pretty good robot vacuum for its price. There are more settings in the app and one of them is to change the suction power, as the default is only set at level 2 of 5. I agree that a dock would be great.
