Best tablet on the market?

I want to know which tablet you think is the best (as in all round best) on the market today, listing major pros and cons, and as well as where I can buy it in oz at he cheapest price. Money is not really the issue though I don't want to be ripped off.

    • good job at being deliberately unhelpful, also when he said "best" he in no way indicated android only, personally id rather have a full win8 (not rt) tablet

  • Nexus or Ipad. Pricing doesn't vary dramatically.

If you're after 7", the Nexus cannot be beat IMHO. Tablets are SO subjective though - and you don't specify any things you do/don't want, such as screen size, operating system or anything.

We have a Child's Meep tablet by Oregon Scientific, a Toshiba AT100, an Asus Transformer, and an Asus VivoTab RT.

I'm in a lucky position we only ever bought one of those though. The rest I won in competitions.

Out of all of those, the Toshiba I would probably would not buy myself. All the rest a great in their own way.

I PERSONALLY think iPad's are FAR too limiting, but on the other hand, first tablet owners seem to actually like that you can't customize them, and they have to transfer their music using iTunes. I think because they can only do things a certain way, it doesn't confuse them by having the flexibility. And yes, I freely admit the screen is nice.

If you're a beginner, I'd go with the iPad, otherwise Windows RT is the next step up in flexibility. If you want to be more of a master of your own device and make more of your own choice in how it looks and behaves, nothing beats Android based, and the Google Nexus is definitely getting all the kudos in the 7" space at the moment. Cheap too, under $300 for both both wireless models!

    • you can't customize them

      Some would beg to differ.

they have to transfer their music using iTunes

I still don't understand why this myth is perpetuated.

otherwise Windows RT is the next step up in flexibility

Right — can you run actual Windows apps on it? No?

There is no correct answer to this question.
It could be iPad, one of a million Androids, Windows 8 or Windows RT, even Blackberry (if you're a massive BB fan!)
Depends what you're using it for and what you value most (apps, battery life, light weight, OS etc etc etc)
    So right up there are:
    iPad
    Surface Pro
    Surface RT
and perhaps ASUS Transformer from the massive list of Androids.

and maybe even a Lenovo Yoga!

  • It also depends on your budget, if I had a decent amount of cash I would buy an ultrabook convertible or a surface pro. Basically a full PC that is also a tablet.
But if I was constrained on budget I would get an android.
Personally I do not own a tablet yet.

  • No playbook?

    :)
