That's a garbage naming convention.
Surely with a nice product, making it unclear what their lineup performance is, hurts sales. "Go 2 extreme" or something would be way clearer

The Z2 Extreme is the literal name of the APU. Lenovo does indeed just call this the Legion Go Gen 2, with the Z2 extreme and Z2 (akin to your Core 7 or Core 5 or what not) telling you exactly what the APU is in the machine, which seems reasonable to me.
