Just wanted 32gb ram :(

It would be much harder to find in this price range as it also requires higher grade cpu too.

U r right… Any reviews on this?

@Zeee: This one seems to be the one that we're looking for
https://www.tomsguide.com/computing/laptops/i-just-tested-th…

228v exists

my 226V has 32gb RAM but the ram and cpu for these are soldered together so it depends on the laptop brand i think
Lenovo has the Ultra 5 32gb variants

@Freestyle: I was always under the impression that Lunar Lake processor that end with a 6 will always have 16GB RAM and those with an 8 will always have 32GB RAM. This is how Intel markets and sells them.
What brand laptop do you have that has that? I don't mind a lower processor for more RAM.
I did check the Lenovo website and couldn't find one that has a 6 Lunar Lake with 32GB RAM.
Also this is a great deal, pity about the RAM. If it was 32GB would of seriously thought about it.

@jlogic: yeah just double checked i have the 228V, wasnt aware there are different names for if they have RAM or not.
Yes this is still a good deal I paid $1450 for mine lol

Need something with a smaller screen size, 16" is massive!

Not raally

Ya its pretty average

Damn tempted, with TRS this is $895
And maybe cashback?
Isn't it $895 already?

Sorry i mean 795 ;)

How TRS will Reduce $100.??

Great deal, best in class battery life for x86 and Great igpu for light gaming

How does the iGPU compare to 780m?

780m would be better and also more games support AMD's frame gen moreso than Intel's..

Wow, haven't seen an ultrabook with HDMI port for a long time.
Very good deal!
What would be the battery life on a full charge?

According to HP
Battery life: Up to 15 hours
Battery life video playback: Up to 18 hours and 30 minutes
Battery recharge time: Supports battery fast charge: approximately 50% in 45 minutes

$679.20 with HPOC20

Screen is poor on that one… This one has 3k 120hz - one of the best out there. Crazy good buy

Agreed. I got the OLED one.
The other one is more for someone on a budget.
Nice enjoy :)

Excellent laptop just wish it was without oled for longevity.

OLED variants of the model (Lenovo with same cpu) i have last longer tho

It seems that pixel shift/masking and general OLED maintenance is not standard for mobile products and specifically not a feature in the HP Omnibook, so burn-in would still be an issue. Not surprising at this price point, anyway.

It has great longevity
According to HP
Battery life: Up to 15 hours
Battery life video playback: Up to 18 hours and 30 minutes
Battery recharge time: Supports battery fast charge: approximately 50% in 45 minutes
I was talking about the inherent flaw of OLEDs being susceptible to burn-in, image retention. OLEDs are made of organic material so they will naturally degrade overtime but burn-in can happen much sooner than that depending on panel, measures taken to prevent burn-in…

If they get 258v and 32gb ram on sale gonna be huge

Thanks! picked up one for my son for Uni… $2659 Retail.. It's basically 67% (2/3) off the original price!!

RRP is rubbish.
No one should be paying full price. On sale 40%-50% is good.

16" but no numerical keypad? The speakers better be really good lol

I bet you don't use a lot of excel..

Or play games.

Yep i was looking for numpad…

They r not speaker, they are vents. Speakers are at the bottom

You are incorrect. Those are upward facing speakers. No computer manufacturer would put vents directly vertically, that would be a stupid design unless fan airflow is very strong.

they are vents according to some youtube reivew

Review online says they r vents

@mrvaluepack: Its wrong review.
Go to this link and play at timestamp 1:00 hour.https://www.youtube.com/live/W5XB2GkgpVc
Its at the bottom

Is the ram soldered?

Yes onboard

Thanks OP, was going to wait for black Friday deals but this is too good to pass. I'd be surprised if anything better arose.

Can the M.2 drive be easily upgraded?

Thanks!
Pity can't upgrade the RAM?

Thanks OP, not quite what I was looking for but sharp price and OLED makes up for it enough. Free returns through 29/11 in case something better pops up doesn't hurt either.

Regarding returns, are you going to keep yours boxed until black Friday to check if anything better comes?

Of course. I keep my iphone 4 box.

Yeah but surely they won't accept it back if you use it 😂 won't be "new" condition?

I'm still dealing with hp regarding returns that was ordered in July and ment to be picked up in July terrible company

How easy is it to upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Pro for a laptop?
Anyone?

It's code based.
Very easy upgrade

If i have lenovo yoga (also can flip) with thia spec, is this HP worth as upgrade?
14" 2.8K
(2880x1800)
OLED 90hz touch, pen support.
i5-1240P processor
16gb ram
It'll be a slight upgrade, this is 3k OLED with 120hz, faster processor etc. If yours is going well then no need… But if yours is damaged or not functioning, you can't go wrong with this :)

@3liminate i checked the comparison actully cpu only 20% faster but igpu is the big difference here, with those AI stuffs, basically what are they? I mean i have copilot on my 12th gen laptop, will the copilot on this HP much smarter?

is this a good spec for normal day to day use? for browsing, Movies etc ?

100%

I so didn't want to buy this, but I chucked it on credit (YOLO). A good upgrade for my 11th gen Intel NUC M15. Thanks OP

So I’m basically looking for buying one. My budget is around 1200$ highest. Should I purchase this? Just lil confused.

I just bought one. If you not doing demanding games then this seems fine

For just using around the house and office based tasks, this laptop is perfectly suited.
If you run software that will demand more RAM then look elsewhere.

I just bought one. Didn’t even do much research. Seems bargain priced.

where is marshmallow?

cracking deal, possible price error. I got the non-oled model, the keyboard is very bad, the size of whole keyboard is smaller than my zbook 14", and there is no gap between key cap, like the xps 13's keyboard.

Does anyone know if this comes with the stylus pen?? no mention anywhere …

yeh saw that but no mention on the ebay site :s

Knowing HP, I doubt it's included.

For a high school (selective school) kid starting Year 7 next year, is it overkill? I want to surprise him

Not really at this price. Buy it and surprise him.

So u mean buy cheaper ?

You won't find anything this good at this price point. I would go with this (if it's within budget). It's a lot of laptop for the price.

Could be a little heavy

almost 3kg is a lot to lag around (ok some sources say it is 1.9kg)

It's 1.88kg. It's also has a 16" screen with a metal chassis. The weight is on the low end of standard for what it is

Does the MacBook Air M4 have anything better than this laptop?

Well It's 2.5x the price

On sale. Itls 1400

15" is $2250

It saying the cpu/gpu is significantly faster. I’m looking to buy a laptop for my son going to high school next year!

I just paid 1250 on amazon for ….
HP OmniBook X Flip Next Gen AI Laptop, 16'' 2K Touch Display, Built-in AI, Intel Core Ultra 5 226V Processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Graphics, Windows 11 Home, Convertible, Silver, BD5R0PA
OP's model is $1600 on AMZN

Return it to amazon

2.9 kg?

1.9

it is actually a great deal for 226V and OLED
