$70 off Min. $200 Spend for Switching Electricity to AGL in-Store (Stacks with 15% off Code) @ The Good Guys

61

The Good Guys has partnered with AGL to provide our customers with a great sign-up offer – Enjoy $70 off in-store when you sign up to an eligible AGL energy plan and spend $200 in store.

Plus, eligible new and moving customers can receive a $40 The Good Guys e-Gift Card per fuel type after you’ve paid your first bill. For a limited time. Click below to find out more.

I am unable to find the AGL Store Credit offer of $70 anywhere online. The deal link shows only $40 store credit after 1st bill for electricity only.

But I walked in to get Roborock Qrevo C and there was a small board saying that I can get $70 Store Credit straight away by switching to AGL (takes 2 minutes). $40 (as shown in deals link) is on-top of that if I wait for the 1st bill else I can switch back immediately after using $70 store credit.

Effectively paid $899 x 0.85 = $764.15
AGL Store Credit = 764.15 - $70 = $694.15
$20 store credit of Gold Services = $694.15 - $20 = $674.15
TCN Him Gift cards worth $650 = $674.15 - $65 = $609.15 for Qrevo C

Hard and fast pass making a rash decision changing your utilities without doing research on your tariffs, disconnection fees etc.

I did check, and it was about the same as my provider. Doesn't take ages to check.

Downvoting a deal just because you are too lazy to check doesn't make sense.

Oh Boy!! Your misinformed & misguided thinking does not justify your neg vote!!!
      You are wrong🤪

      "disconnection fees"

      What??
Shows your lack of knowledge of the field!!
      Better do YOUR OWN RESEARCH🤪

Changing energy retailers does not involve disconnection or connection of energy supply!! So no fees!! Just a bill from a different retailer.
Frequently discussed in Energy Deals here.

I switch electricity retailers many times a year.
Do it for the $100-200 incentives offered each time. Plus up to $250 Bill Credits from some retailers.

That has paid for my electricity bills in an all electric, aircon, no solar house for years💰

Requires little research if you are only staying for short time it takes to qualify for incentive.
Then switch again. As the OP suggested.
Any slightly higher tariff is more than offset by the incentive paid.

There is a cooling off period. You can cancel the transfer and still get the credit.

AGL currently has a $100 credit applied if you stay 90 days. Does that apply too or just the $70 in store?

Interesting, trying to find out via chat. But $70 Store Credit is on the spot - if you are looking to just use it and switch back.

Chat was confused and didn't confirm anything actually.

  • I used to use AGL with $100 GG voucher, I dont use it after I got it and for6 got about it, 2 years later I have something to buy and realise I changed my phone so don't have the voucher SMS anymore. I call them to AGL and ask them to get the voucher again, but they said they will escalade the issue over and over, I call and wait more than 5 time through almost 6 months and gave up. if you don't have a plan to buy from GG straight away, just use another provider instead. this kind of promoted plan usually way expensive than others.

    • You didn't get it in email?

With the AGL $70 deal it requires an employee to process it hence you won’t really see anything advertised unless it’s in store. This goes towards the staff’s KPI and we get a commission for it.

Usually the staff are pushed to advertise them same with Telstra but depending on who you talk to they just can’t be bothered. I work there and sometimes staff just straight up avoid talking about it.

  • Just wanted to put it out there, I recently switched to Globird - as in actually switched over a few days ago fully. I have now been offered an "exclusuve rate" and a $250 credit (after 90 days) if I switch back to AGL. I'd just switched as I received the $200 credit from AGL and the rates were decently better at Globird

Which works out about 13% more than Globird for the daily charge and kWh rate. However the $250 will more than make up for that, as it will pay for a month or more of electricity.

Just an FYI I thought I'd put here for anyone looking at AGL deals, obviously targeted but yeah.
