[iOS, Android] Free 1-Year Premium: Meet-N-Split (Bill-Splitting App) @ Apple App Store / Android Play Store

52

Hey OzBargain crew 👋

I’m an indie developer from Melbourne and just launched a new app called Meet-n-Split — built to make splitting group expenses painless (and keep friendships intact 😅).

After too many dinners, trips, and Airbnb stays ending in “who owes who?”, I decided to build something that actually makes it easy and fair.

💡 What Meet-n-Split Does
• 🧾 Scan receipts — the app reads totals and fills everything automatically
• 💬 Group chat — discuss expenses right inside the app
• 🔔 Smart payment invites — send friendly reminders, no awkward messages
• 💸 One-tap settlements — balances everyone instantly
• 📊 Group analytics — see where your money goes (and who’s always covering dessert 😄)

🎁 Free 1-Year Premium Trial

To celebrate launch, I’ve made the premium version completely free for 1 year.
It might show $0.99 on the App Store, but once you subscribe, you’ll get a full 12-month free trial — no strings attached, cancel anytime.

💬 Feedback Welcome

I know there are already a few bill-splitting apps out there (Splitwise, Tricount, SettleUp, etc.).
I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel — just make it cleaner, faster, and friendlier.
If you give Meet-n-Split a go, I’d love your honest feedback — what you liked, what you didn’t, or what would make it your go-to app.

Your feedback genuinely helps shape the next version 🙏

  • If only we had payID, or any other mainstream methods of instantly transfering money to people.

Would probably do gangbusters in the US where they still use Venmo and shit tho.

    • +1

Thanks, Planning to integrate Payid and Paypal soon

      • Definitely see if you can make it work for the yanks. It's hard to break into anything, but the missus has a few US mates and transfering money and splitting bills and stuff is apparently a nightmare every time.

    • +2

O wow I thought this was a hook up app for a minute

  • +4

Beem allows the exact same thing for splitting bills

    • -1

Yep! Beem does have bill-splitting — it’s a great app for payments.

Meet-n-Split focuses more on group expense management — things like scanning receipts, tracking multi-currency trips, adding notes, chatting inside each group, and getting analytics of who paid what over time.

So if you want a quick PayID split, Beem’s great — but if you’re managing multiple expenses with friends, flatmates or trips, Meet-n-Split keeps it all organised in one place 😊

      • Good bot

    • Beem also let’s you settle within the app which saves a lot of the hassle of calculating then transferring later on.

  • Hey OP. so how do payments work? You link a debit or credit card to the app and the app takes the payment?
    Are there any fees ?

    • -8

      Hey — great question!

With Meet‑n‑Split, we don’t directly handle the money transfer ourselves. Instead:
      • You scan the receipt, we split the expense among friends/groups inside the app.
      • For actual payment, you’ll use your preferred method (PayID, bank transfer, Apple Pay, Card etc) outside or inside your chat/invite.
      • We’ll keep the records, balances and group analytics in-app so everything is transparent.

If you’re asking whether we support PayID natively: not yet — we’re working on easier integrations and would love your feedback on how you’d use it.

Cost? For you as the user: none, we’re offering the 1-year free premium now. For the developer side: we need to integrate whichever payment rails you prefer, and that may involve setup/fees from payment providers — we’ll absorb the complexity.

Hope this helps — happy to answer any feature or future payment method questions!

Thanks for the AI generated response.

        • Harsh. Not everything well written or elaborate is AI generated

  • +8

Jees. I've been using the wrong app, calculator, for the last 25 years.

    • I just do the sums in my head

      • Not easy to split $134.83 by 7 people in your head.

        • +1

          Isn't it?

        • Don't usually split bills. But in above just estimate. $20x7=140-7 is$133 when paying $19 each. Easier to work out that way. You got $1.83 left to split or just say $20 each and tip or the ones paying that time keep that.
And there are always one that doesn't chip in or doesn't pay.

          • @Mikael: These days the easiest way to split bill is round off the amount to the nearest whole number and PayID.

      • It wouldn’t be fun to split a bill when everyone isn’t eating or drinking the same thing. You wouldn’t want to cover for your mates’ extra drinks.

        • Depends on the mate?

  • +11

Pro-tip, using ChatGPT to write your post and every answer feels disingenuous and isn't a great way to attract customers.
Unless you're just a professional author and really know how to use an em-dash :)

    • +1

I watched a video about that the other day. Also 3 bullet points is another way to spot ChatGPT content!

  • A Dutch version would make a lot of money. They're pretty hardcore on this.

  • Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Even though it isnt for me. solid effort and good luck with the app.

  • +5

    A subscription for bill-splitting? lol 👎

  • Imagine if we already had something that already did this, oh wait, we do. It’s called a calculator

  • +4

The calculator or excel apps usually do the trick, so for those reasons I’m out.

  • +1

love the idea but please at least take the effort to write a proper description rather than just copy and pasting whatever AI gives you. i’ve seen multiple free apps advertised on ozbargain that have AI generated descriptions, and that just makes it look pretty low-quality…

    • sure, thanks noted

  • +1

You should stop let AI do all the writing for you.

No one will pay subscription for this kind of app.

  • This could be a catch.

It might show $0.99 on the App Store, but once you subscribe, you’ll get a full 12-month free trial — no strings attached, cancel anytime.

For the app I shared, it alwasy shows $0 in the "In-App purchases"…but this one…

    In-App Purchases
    Meet-n-Split Subscription $14.99
    Meet-n-Split Subscription $1.99

    • In App Purchase are different to subscription, App Store shows $0 but the subscription inside the app shows price and allow you to use the free trail

  • Isnt splitwise does the same thing and free, used it in my last trip with group and it does all different types of calculations , reports etc

    • Yes Splitwise does same thing but its not free either.
Also I had added Chat for Groups and Reciept Scan . Feel free to try if you are looking for one

  • Perfect for timeleft dinners?

  • Added Android Version, Same Free trail for 1 year
