ok 2nd time trying to post this.
tried to post it in the early morning, saw delivery was $27.10 on phone earlier, then it was $100 on PC browser. didn't post.

now I check again it's still $27.10 on the phone, but $100 on the PC. so maybe you need to buy on the app.

fridge on it's own is currently $209+$10 ship. so this deal ($359.50 shipped) makes the 24Ah power pack $140.50 shipped.
ATL for 24Ah was $149 + $22.70 so $171.70 shipped. you could split the discount evenly for $15 off the fridge + $15 off the 24Ah ATL.

  • How long would the battery run the fridge?

    • I dont think it does

    • +2

I've seen videos but not the same fridge and battery, but I have been binge watching power station videos so therefore recommended many of these outdoor videos.

in some tests you will see they did the test indoors, and didn't open the fridge once. other videos do indoor/outdoor tests and say the difference isn't much because, the temp is warmer inside, but outside the temp drops really low so the fridge barely has to run during that time outdoors at night = both about even runtime. but opening the fridge makes a big difference, how often you open it etc. how hot the weather is also makes a difference.

if you did a quick check you can see the battery is 300Wh, and the fridge consumes 60W max. usually this max is only when you turn it on and it has to spend 30 min bringing outside temp down to 0 degrees (videos say you can greatly reduce this power on consumption if you keep a few frozen water bottles in your house freezer, and chuck them in the portable fridge before you turn it on). so I would say over time it will probably be something like 30W (just to maintain cold temp it will change between like 1W~20W~40W according to videos I've seen).
so 300/30 = 10 hours. but this is not how things work, as I said opening the fridge makes a big difference. there is power lost in the fridge power cable. and you aren't going to get exactly 300Wh out of a 300Wh power pack.

let's say power pack is 90% efficient (I think I did see a aussie guy actually test the total output, it was about 270~280Wh or something). then 270/30 = 9 hours. plus more loss from opening and closing the fridge, plus a bit more power lost from the fridge cable. I would say a bit less than 9 hours. if you run it at freezer temperatures you will probably get less than half that.

    • it's their smallest fridge btw. just in case you didn't notice check measurements.

    • I have the same units, max 2 days on fridge 4⁰C and outside temperature is Cold. Last time I used 2 weeks ago camping when it was 6⁰-13⁰C outside.
In the forum, some peoples said it will draw batt faster when set it bellow 4⁰C.
I have other batteries, so use this king only for the fridge.

    • Depends on ambient temps, temps you set the fridge and temp of your food.

I've got the 15L kings fridge and absolute best case scenario - the fridge near full and set to 5c - uses about 20w an hour indoors at 22c ambient

If you're trying to freeze ice cream at the beach expect 40-50w per hour

      • yeah I think it's a good idea to give subwars a realistic irl average. so they don't end up with melted spoiled foods.

assume they will want to use it on a "outing" because camping is less common these days I think. so during the day, 25~30 degrees outside, maybe an umbrella to keep it in the shade. and fridge set to 0 degrees to keep iceblocks frozen.

many reviews of these cheaper fridges also say the thermometer of fridge is often a few degrees off. also the temp goes up and down (normal for fridges), so if you want to keep ice blocks frozen, try to use a thermometer to measure inside the fridge, usually need to set it a few degrees below 0.

If you're trying to freeze ice cream at the beach expect 40-50w per hour

also need to point out the difference between freezing something, and keeping something frozen. same story with cooling something (buy drink warm from asian grocer/supermarket) and keeping something cool (chilled drink from house or supermarket).

I heard freezing and cooling something takes up tonnes of energy (basically the fridge is fighting the warm items inside, which keep the temps too high). I would probably say it will be running at 60W max for hours. but keeping something thats already cool or frozen, is way more efficient.

also a fyi for those maybe looking at Kings power packs for the first time.

the 24Ah model charges the same speed as the 12Ah model (which I use as a large power bank). so is a bit slow to charge. charging 24Ah will take about 7.5 hours (now that I think of it similar to the run time).

also since buying the 12Ah and reading reviews watching videos. some negative reviews say the Kings power pack doesn't last the capacity. I think this has to do with the fact the charging indicator works a bit different. and those users weren't charging the pack to full.
as soon as you see 4 lights solid on, it's still charging and only at about 75%~80% charge. for the 12Ah it takes about another 35 mins to fully charge. for the 24Ah it will probably take another hour to reach 100% after the 4 lights are on.
I used a USB-C power meter to confirm this, and you will see a few aussie accent youtube videos that say the same thing.

  • That's either a big power pack or a small fridge.

    • it's both.

fyi lifepo4 pack is heavier than I thought. which makes it seem even bigger. can be difficult to hold 12Ah one with one hand. I barely move it around the house though.

but the 24Ah will be double the weight and thickness. at least it comes with a handle (12Ah one doesn't).

  • just got recommended on youtube a Kings video.

new fridge models are out they are called "Stayzcool".

not sure but these Escape look like Alpicool/BougeRV clones with different colour and logo.
