Looking for a SFF for Home Assistant & Jellyfin

Hey all!

Looking to move my Jellyfin install off my main PC and onto a dedicated SFF, and setup Home Assistant.
Looking mostly at refurb SFF PC's like a Lenovo M710Q or Dell Optiplex.
Hoping to spend less than $200 on it.

Any recommendations for what to look out for?
Found this one on eBay that looks good - https://ebay.us/m/3tSXTD

Any other sites or stores to look at would be good too.
Happy to start with smaller SSD and RAM and can upgrade myself as required.

Thanks!

I used an old NUC I had laying around for one, and the other I just got an old Dell Optiplex i5 with 16gb RAM and a 256gb SSD.

    Maybe something like this

That ThinkCentre M710Q is good enough for what you want to use it for. It's just that once you have a dedicated SFF sitting at home you'll be tempted to load more and more services on it :)

    • This. I have a my Home Assistant running on one of these and its working very well.

    • I'm running a ton of things under proxmox on a slightly older i5-6xxx micro PC. Had to upgrade to 16GB (mostly for TrueNAS), but the cpu is fine.

  • My Home Assistant is running on an old Acer laptop with Celeron N150 CPU and 2GB RAM. I think HA has very minimal hardware requirements.

Thanks all - I think I'll spend a little more and go for this https://ebay.us/m/1CxUi4
From my research the 8500T with extra cores and some additional features will be worth it.

  • Just grab a n150 minipc. Cheap as chips and easily capable for what you require
