Citizen Zenshin 42.5mm CA4610-85M Turquoise Chrono $599 ($574 with $25 Sign up Voucher) Delivered @ Starbuy

130

I've been looking for this colour for a while now. After trying to haggle at my local shop, the closest I got was $700. The white dial was on special for $499 recently, but I haven't seen a 'domestic' authorised seller go below that price. It goes well with the $25 sign-up bonus.

Hope this helps someone on their watch journey.

Hey OP, you need to put the seller's name into the title.

Otherwise, it's a good deal if you want one of these. I'm not into integrated bracelets but this is probably one that I'd actually wear.

    • Thanks - done :)

It's been lower. Was on amazing for $4 something just few weeks ago.

      • It was from Amazon Germany and not local stock with 5 year warranty. Happy to pay $100 more for peace of mind.

It's a watch cuz. It'll be covered under warranty. Pretty sure it's a global warranty.

          • @itsmoe: I never said Amazon Germany wouldn't give you a warranty on the watch. Importing it gets you 2 years, but buying from an authorised Australian retailer gets you 5. It's totally up to you if those extra 3 years are worth it.

      • Wow four dollars would be an awesome bargain!!!

      • I've seen it for $499 or something.
Either way they are struggling to sell these and the Series 8.

        • Yeh not a big fan of the integrated bracelet and I own a PRX which I don't like that much.

  • Nice…need it in a Panda black n' white though.

    • Seiko speedtimer is a better choice for most.
Not sure I like the blotchy/grainy dials on these and Seiko solar is better.

      • … Seiko solar is better.

How so? Citizen are often considered the gold standard in solar-powered watches. You’re hard-pressed to see evidence (if any) of the solar collectors, whereas on a Speedtimer they can be seen behind the chrono dials when you look. Plus, Citizen keep managing to squeeze more power, and therefore running time, into the rechargeable cells.

        • Just personal observations. A lot of my Eco-drives do the half speed (2 sec) ticking or stop altogether when they don't receive any sun. None of my Seikos do that.

      • There's no reality where Seiko solar is better than Ecodrive imo.

          • @G-Shock: I have a 7 year old Super Titanium Ecodrive I kept in a drawer for 2+ years. Took it out, put it on, it started up and it's been in rotation since. A friend has a couple of Ecodrives that he keeps on a shaded windowsill, that are on the same capacitors as they were 21 years ago. Maybe these are outliers, but I've had other stellar runs too. I tend to buy them for people that don't know about watches.

Edit: In any case, good to have two good options. I have no issues with Seiko, I like their Urushi dials.
