I have come across sellers who take crypto only payment. What's the simplest way to make such payments (around $200 worth)? Wondering if it is worth it to keep an option handy in case needed to make a quick payment.
Thanks

Fair call.
Yes, in the past I had confidence in the seller but as I was not familiar with the process so decided to buy elsewhere.
This time I wanted to learn the process in case I do decide to use it in the future.
Will look up payment processors. Thanks

If you purchase crypto to '"immediately" use to purchase goods is fine but if there is delay from when you acquired the crypto to when you spent it you create a taxable event.

Probs getting scammed, but do your own due diligence.
Easiest way is to open an account with coinspot or kraken verify your id and then you can deposit AUD for BTC.
Once you have BTC you can send it to whoever you wish via coinspot.

There are crypto ATM's out there. No idea if they buy, sell or both fro crypto. May be easiest way , but I have no idea.

sounds like a scam 200%

Pretty unusual for 'sellers' to take BTC. If a retailer does take crypto, it's probably going to be stablecoins. You're probably getting scammed, as everyone else has said.

Yeah nah, I've bought quite a few things with crypto from legit online stores, I just send it straight from my wallet. If the OP has no crypto though which is kinda what it sounds like then they need to do the basics first.

Any sellers that ONLY take crypto? Also I'm curious what the benefit of transacting in crypto was over just using PayPal / Credit card?

Probably not IIRC, they had multiple choices for payments including crypto. I chose crypto due to the gains I had in my wallet, I could buy stuff and not have to dip into my main accounts if that makes sense.

Just open an account on any Aus exchange - Independent Reserve are a high quality Aus one.
Be wary that CBA and some other banks may freeze your account when you try to transfer any money into them though. And to mirror others, this sounds a lot like a scam, the only seller that would require crypto only would be a drug dealer, so if you aren't buying drugs then please reconsider this method of payment. Zero recourse if you don't get what you paid for. If you're buying drugs, enjoy! (disclaimer for mods - obviously I'm referring to legal drugs)

the only seller that would require crypto only would be a drug dealer,
I read a book about the Dark Web a few months ago - Silk Road was mentioned. That's where my mind went when I saw this topic, but it wasn't thinking drugs, it went to seriously messed up streaming content for really messed up people looking to get put in jail and bashed to death for being so messed up.
I think it was "The Darkest Web" by Eileen Ormsby.

Thanks, I've ditched the idea altogether as I don't think I'm cut out for possible shady businesses.
If you're asking this question, you're at quite a high risk of being scammed. Have you vetted the seller? Most legit sellers that take cryptocurrency will have a payment processor to facilitate this. Sending money to a random address doesn't seem wise.
