All my local gyms are cheaper than that. I pay around $400 every 6 months and I don't see what extras "platinum" gives you. Maybe this is the going city rate. I'm regional.

The standard price for Anytime Fitness (biggest chain in Australia) is about $700/6 months these days 🥴

I was paying $6/week at Planet Fitness when I lived near one. Can't wait for PF to expand.

    • I agree. Only difference is location. I had a passport membership when I lived in the ‘burbs which gave me access to 4/5 Fitness Firsts around me.
Then I moved 10 mins out from the CBD and the ratio flipped so I upgraded to platinum. Paying just over $500 per 6 months now.

    • is that with unlimited classes?

      • Yes but the classes are only at 5:30am (faaaaark that) and 5:30pm.

Does anyone know if you would still have to share all of your PII with them to utilise ?

How many gyms out there don't you need to share name, phone number, address etc to sign up?

Fair … but if you are effectively buying a gift card.

OH&S especially a 24/7 gym. You'll likely have to surrender an emergency contact also.

Yes you're buying a gift card, but … there's more to it than that,

I just paid roughly the weekly same price for Anytime Fitness, but 12 months (~$1,000).

Simply look for a newly opening store and offer to pay cash upfront. They'll knock the commitment down from 18 months to 12.

I never agree to direct debit at gyms anymore.

    • I'm about to sign up with anytime fitness to take their rest-of-2025-free promo. I would choose fitness first if they had any branch near me

      • Do you have a GoodLife near you? $399 for 6 months deal was just posted.

    • Different level of gym

  • no news..been like this for many in years at Costco now

  • Does it include reformer Pilates in that membership?
