Samsung Galaxy 8GB or Motorola Xoom 2 or Nexus 7 32GB

hi everyone,

I am leaving melbourne soon and like to get a tablet for myself and mum and claim GST when i leave.
MLN probably have the best prices at the moment, samsung ($199), motorola ($299), and nexus 7 ($299).

mum wants it to watch videos and play games like soduku, so samsung seems right for her to try.

i want it to use on the go, therefore motorola seems compelling but i read some poor reviews on its OS and wifi.

finally nexus 7 has lotsa good reviews or i am not sure if its better in terms of "ease to use"

need to make a decision soon and thanks alot for your comments

kev go westie

  • Don't forget you need the tax invoice to be over $300 in order to claim back gst! Can be multiple items to add up to that threshold, so maybe the $299 tablet and a $5 case would do.

    • yeah thats exactly why i am getting 2 tablets. thanks for the reminder mate.

  • +1

I bought a Xoom 2 a few weeks ago in the EB games sale and so far it has been fantastic. For the price ($300) it is a brilliant buy especially since it has a 10.1" screen. It has 32GB internal storage but can also use a OTG USB cable to save to USB sticks. It does wireless b/g/n and also accepts a micro-sim for 3G and microSD cards for extra storage. It runs Android ICS 4.0.4 (I think, it maybe 4.1.4??) which seems very stable. Videos look great on the screen and the colours are clear and vibrant. For $300 it is a steal.

  • I would say Nexus 7 is too small to enjoy watching videos. I've got a Samsung 7.7 inch tablet and I wish I had a 10 inch tablet at times.

  • Get the Note for 10.1 for $344 if you can. I posted the deal yesterday.
