EGO Warranty Claim - Credit Where It Is Due

I was pretty vocal in my disappointment regarding EGO's customer service earlier in the year. See thread here:

So I feel it is only right that I acknowledge when they have provided good customer service.

I bought one of their multi-tool packs in 2021 and was very happy with the system overall. Last month the drive shaft of the whipper snipper attachment came loose and whilst the tool still worked it was very frustrating.

I used the warranty website on a Saturday, they replied on the Monday, booked me in to take the attachment to a nearby service centre on the Wednesday (about 20 minutes drive away) which I was able to drop off on the Friday. They called me the following Tuesday to say that they would be replacing it, and I received it today via StarTrack.

So all up in took 2 weeks to get a replacement under warranty, and it's actually their upgraded new model, not a replacement of the older model.

So I'm very pleased, was a pretty straightforward process and was pretty quick overall.

Well done EGO, much better than last time!

  • I've never had an issue. I've had two batteries replaced after they would just display a red circle and never charge beyond one bar; however, they would get very hot while on the charger.
The tip they gave me was not to charge any battery over 5Ah on the fast charger.

That's the charger they supplied me with.

      • I got both, the fast and slow.

I have 36V Ryobi gear. Anything goes wrong, just take it into Bunnings and walk out with a new one. Couldn't be easier.

Except there is no way the Ryobi will get through my buffalo grass if it is long and wet, the EGO will…

      • I agree. Ego cuts wet

      • That's the reason I went with Ego, so many friends had bought the Ryobi gear and they always regretted them not having enough grunt.
