That isn't relevant to if this is a bargain or not. Also Woolworths are doing similar AI with their cameras and Aldi have the cameras ready to start using something in the future.
Most big companies have shady ties to things, if you took that into account on ozbargain we might as well ban large companies.

'Gods Eye' may sound like it is referring to the cameras, but it actually refers to Palantir's software, that provides a centralised dashboard.

what are you on about

What's that got to do with Coles installing software to reorganise it's DATA??
Has nothing to do with CAMERASđŸ¤ª
Or this Deal!
What do you think happens when the data has been 'reorganised'? Just internal investigations to help with managing inventory, perhaps? How do you improve your inventory? It's a representation of a dynamic balance that tells you the story of what and when something is sold, and if you could cross that with your local demographic, etc to get some insight, would you not? That's what I'd do if I worked on the case, because I'm too daft to understand the slippery slops of generative AI being employed by people who's sole job is to profit.
No, it's not about the deal, I'm just replying to something that interests me.

@Alley Cat: Large businesses such as Coles deal with huge amounts of data.
It's not just amount of stock on shelves, who is buying what at which store, etc.
Or the loyalty programsThere is a large amount of waste & spoilage. Was talking logistics with charity Ozharvest, when a supermarket distribution centre found it had too much frozen dessert stock with more arriving. Ozharvest was asked to pick up over a tonne of cheapest desserts in next hours to make way for higher value stock.
That shouldn't happen, but does. Someone at the supermarket took their eye off the data. Then there are the enormous number of staff. Large supermarket businesses have been caught underpaying senior staff for years. Why - because no data was collected on hours worked & when.
That can lead to huge fines, large payouts, & damage to businesses reputation. That's just a small amount of the data they try to manage. But much important data is either not collected or not utilised. Noticing that gap in data can be very important & profitable.
Being able to see it in a different way can help reduce costs & lead to new opportunities.
It's what I did in my own consultancy long ago with University researchers through to multinational businesses.
Loved the challengesđŸ¤”Sometimes they are so caught up they don't see the wood for the trees. (Lost in so many small details that they fail to understand the bigger picture.)
Generated a new highly profitable business estimated to be worth $350M/yr for a traditional company. Just by seeing the business differently. But that's easy when a business or team is small. Dealing with the enormous amount of data generated by Coles… Requires specialised software.

@INFIDEL: It sounds like you are very interested in explaining why Coles gets in bed with the partners, which has nothing to do with what I've commented.

@Alley Cat: I don't care about Coles.
Somehow I don't think you understand.Yes. Everyone or business can benefit by collaborating with others to help them achieve.
As Coles have been doing for years.
Nothing new.A lot of that involves understanding you / your business through understanding the information & data. Usually in new ways. .
That's what happens when the data has been 'reorganised'! As you asked.
New possibilities that otherwise aren't apparent become very obvious.
[As in the creation of the entirely new, highly profitable business above. The very old multinational did not see the possibilities until I got them to think beyond their long history, presenting the data & info differently. Then it was so obvious! ]

Cooker much

Australia needs its EU GDPR equivalent for surveillance - we are so outdated.
These days, boycotting large players is not the way to go as Corporates are too big and exists in monopoly/duopoly/oligopoly.

I can boycott Coles easily. They've lost my family's $500 a week. The people in this thread backing Coles are sus af.

OP: just checked, there's plenty of stock, but they're full price. Please mark as expired.

Use REPORT

It’s in aisle 15 - plenty there

Yes, plenty, for $24.
