Noticed that the sole on my boots will need their first replacement soon. I was looking for some recommendations where to get this done? Ideally somewhere in Sydney City or Inner West
I am bit disappointed how fast the sole wears out. I’ve been wearing them for about 6 months.

I use the official RM Williams service. I thought they did an excellent job, even if it was expensive.
Have you got leather soles? They wear out that quick usually if you have. If you have leather soles you need to get Topy rubber soles over the top before you wear them (otherwise they don’t stick properly) or better yet, buy the RMs with a rubber sole.
I got the hybrid, leather and rubber sole, called dynamic flex or so. Sole at the tip has worn down to the top very quickly.
How did they manage to wear out in 6 months? How often do you use them?
Pretty much daily during the week, 10k steps/day. Had much cheaper boots before where the sole didn’t wear that fast. Sole around the tip has worn as well as the rubber on the heel, would say it’s about half the thickness at the back of the heel.
You could buy a brand new pair of boots from Kmart for less than that. I’m pretty sure they’ll still be going after six months as well.
After wearing daily at 10k steps per day? Doubt it.

Did you wear out the sole or the heel? I can see the heel wearing out in 6 months, but unless you are running marathons in them I have no idea how you managed to wear out the sole so fast.

My RMs (2 pairs) were the same, rubber sole, the heel wore out within 6mo on both. I just took them to my local cobbler (I'm in QLD) to put a topy on. Standard job, $80 or so per pair. He said he often does this for fresh RMs, he reckons the standard sole is just not very good. Whatever he replaced them with has lasted 4y and still going strong.
To clarify, my local cobbler is not an official RM repairer or anything but it's a pretty straightforward job (idk if dynamic flex is harder though)
Thanks, so a topy is some additional layer he stuck on the original sole? Some hard wearing rubber? How thick is that topy?
