Do they install it is well, melb?

    • They said they can refer to a local plumber, yiu need to pay to install it.

  • Whats the yearly cost after initial cost?

    • It depends what filter combo you choose but it would range between $200-300 a year. I would also be factoring if it is a small or large household for annual water usage and how contaminated the water is.

    • So many factors, but lets say you choose to replace all 3 filters
      Stage 1- 1 micron polyspun $60
Stage 2- Coconut Carbon Refillable $40
      Stage 3- Aragon $275
      Total = $375

  • Does it reduce the flow? I can't speed any flow specification.

It'll definitely reduce flow. Ours reduces the flow substantially.

    • Of course, there will always be a flow drop.
Looking at the other whole house systems it mentions a 5psi drop @ 20L/m.
For off the shelf replaceability, the 20” x 4.5” filters seems the most common size to keep the flow rate up.
      A 10” x 2.5” filter will perform worse.

Strikes me as you are paying a lot for the fancy stainless steel housing.

I have been buying from Clarence Water filters over many years:

    https://www.clarencewaterfilters.com.au/product/triple-whole…

    • How often are you replacing these filters?

Is this system needed in Melbourne where the water tastes fine from the tap?

      • I've got the same questions :)
Also, do you know if we can buy 3rd party filters? Don't really want to be locked to a provider, which seems to be the MO for most of these installers.

      • I am from Melb as well. One thing I notice quickly is the chlorine. If you're used to filtered water, the normal tap water tastes like drinking swimming pool water.
I use Clarence Water Filter products too

      • Melbourne used to be great but now tastes like chlorine.

You will be amazed at the sediment that is caught.

Filter change for me is every 6 months.

Buy a std filter size and you have a world of filter options at all price points and qualities. Want a long life filter then buy a Dalton ceramic, clean it and reinstall.

    • That, the 10 year warranty and specifically the Aragon filter.
      There’s some cheaper options here:

  • I've had a similar system installed recently, make sure to get quotes from small licensed plumbers in your area.

Got quotes ranging from $200-$2000. If anyone in SE QLD needs one installed I can provide the details of the guys that did mine. It was about $200 for labour + parts or you can supply your own parts.

    • Im Interested in what you got and paid for for your setup. What’s your opinion on buying this vs their supplied one?.

      In Brisbane.

    • please message me with details.

    • I know a great plumber in the Tweed area who installed mine.

    • paulsplumbing.com.au was the mob I used.

I think you're misunderstanding this. Drinkable isn't the only reason.

  • $1700 for 3 filters?
    hows this a deal wtf

    • It's not. A blow on your wallet though.

    • Good thing this deal is for more than 3 filters

  • What is the rough cost to have it installed by plumber? I have ask 2 quotes and told it would cost me from 1.5K to install. I have a feeling they don't want the job

    • Complexity is the question. Have an easy access water line coming in with suitable mounting surface then a couple of hours.

Do you need whole of house or just the kitchen (I have a twin filter system externally fitted just for the kitchen which goes through a duplicate twin filter at the back of the fridge/freezer because it cost me very little and was an easy access self install)?

      • Good question. The quotes were for installing the water filter to the pipe line straight after the water meter so i guessing this would be for the whole house including flow reduction.
