  • Aldi

  • buy them on eBay. I've brought dozens, and they are all fantastic - i buy rechargeable ones and they are all around $1 each.

i have an energizer charger and works for all of them - energizer are very expensive in comparison, but at least now i have a good charger. You can get chargers and battery / charger combo's too.

all sizing available. cheapest batteries solution around i think.

eBay all the way, reliable and safe.

    • I second the Bunnings. The Ikea ones are good too.

  • If you want alkalines in big quantities, have a look at Costco if you're somewhere that has one.

Their own brand (Kirkland) is great and guaranteed to be as good if not better than leading market brands. Their batteries come in slabs of 48. Whilst I don't have the price here, they were very reasonable and batteries are long lasting.

We go through tonnes at our place and with so many toys about, I don't like using rechargeables because I don't see the toys again half the time.

I'll check price when I head in tomorrow and post here then.

  • I've been buying the Aldi ones in bulk packs and pretty happy with them although I did just buy a woolworths chevron rechargeable 4 pack AA for $3.99 and so far so good

  • avoid BTY brand
