I feel safe to post this since my order shipped this morning (there's been a weird amount of subwoofer deals posted today…..).
RSL (Roger Sound Labs) subwoofers are absolutely revered in the audiophile community, and the 10S MkII is the go to recommendation for entry level subs. I've had my eye on the 12S combos for quite some time. Not only do they only go on sale once a year, they are out of stock 90% of the time (DJT's tarriff-mania has hurt their business operations a lot).
Anyway, there's some real funky stuff going on with the pricing on their website. Firstly, the 12S subwoofer on it's own is priced at $1528. The CG3M (single driver bookshelf) at $180. The CG23M (dual driver bookshelf) is $256. With that in mind, FIVE OUT OF THE SIX combos are actually MORE EXPENSIVE than buying the units individually. Bizarre.
The only one that improves the value proposition, is the 12S + 2x CG23 combo, which comes out to $1844 ($196 cheaper than buying the individual components).
Furthermore, RSL are supposed to have a tiered discounting system. $1000-$2000 is meant to be 10%. $2000+ is 15%. So I thought I would need to add this combo plus a standalone speaker to hit the 2k mark and get the discount. But it's applying the 15% discount with just the $1844 combo added. There's also a hefty discount on shipping as part of the Black Friday sale.
All up, the 15% off, the combo savings, and the shipping savings, it works out to a $663.17 saving versus regular pricing. Which was enough for me to finally pull the trigger.

Interesting setup. Is it intended for a desk?
