even though it's 3 times the price of the last Venu SQ 2 model.
they had to make it worse than the more expensive models some how. like maximum temperature rating.

What's with the max temp though?
What happens once you surpass it?Battery issues? Chip overheat issues? Or glue melts?
The Venu 3 has a higher temp rating than the Venu3s… But why?
I'm 99.9% sure I will go over it.

idk to be honest not an expert on smartwatches in harsh conditions.
but makes sense to me what you said on a humid hot day, and watch under the sun constantly (at the beach, no shade) might reach those limits.
I think it's well known smartwatch is like a mini phone/computer inside with lithium battery. need to just use some common sense I guess heat is a weakness and danger for lithium. I heard of people killing their normal watches with solar charging by taking it off and "leaving it in the sun".
obviously if they spend the money on research, a company like garmin can build a much more heat resistant watch. then you have the designs they spent money on that failed those tests, and they will use those for their cheaper "entry" tier watches. that's how it works generally.
The Venu 3 has a higher temp rating than the Venu3s… But why?
because 3S is smaller? will heat up quicker.
just keep in mind Venu watches should of been way way cheaper then they are. they were the budget range, but suddenly the new ones cost 3x to 4x the price, all profit, but the quality still entry level.

also fyi, if you are lucky and the tiny lithium battery doesn't explode from extreme heat, the battery usually swells up.
this causes the front glass to be pushed out and detach from the watch or create a gap that looks like adhesive melted. the swelling could be the cause of the issues you heard for Venu 3 watches. it happened to the Apple watch as well, swelling and glass comes loose.

How much is it normally ?

FYI Venu 4 is 819 in JB Hi-Fi Business and 800 if you have health insurance 15% discount on Garmin website (Bupa and others).
Partner is enjoying Venu 4 (purchased with 15% off).

ended up getting the venu4 - thank you!

Garmin has great battery life, but they don’t do battery replacements. They’ll only exchange for a refurbished model. Not sure if the battery is new in the refurbs.
Where Apple currently does battery replacements on its Ultra 3 and series 11 for $169

Max temp of 55C is a bit of a worry…
We get 48C in the shade here.
On your wrist in the Aussie sun will be significantly above this.
Anyone know if this is why they fail in water? Ie. facia glue melts and seperates. Go for a swim later on and it's all over.
