20% Off Six-Eyed Scorpion Chilli Oils @ Six-Eyed Scorpion

100

Six-eyed Scorpion is having their only sale this year and is offering 20% off their products. The promo runs from Monday 10 November to Sunday 16 November, but email subscribers can get early access starting from Sunday 9 November.

Yes, I'm aware that 20% off may not be considered to be a bargain by OzBargain standards, but given how popular this chilli oil is and how rarely they go on sale, I thought that I'd share this one.

Notes

  • The Instagram post does not state exactly which items are on sale, but given that chilli oil is their primary product and that the video mentions chilli oil, I think it's pretty safe to assume that the chilli oil will be on sale.
  • The promo period is before Black Friday. They have decided to run the Black Friday sale early
This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2025

    What about one eyed snake

212ml of chilli flakes and canola oil for $20… Fuiyoh!

    • It’s certainly a high margin product. If they have found a market here, good on them.

All good, except the “Canola Oil” — charging $19 for a 200ml bottle is a bit much. That’s already in the territory of Fly By Jing, which is among the top five globally rated products (even though taste is subjective, I’d agree with that comparison on price point).

for $8, made in Japan S&B Chili Oil with Crunchy Garlic, is a good option to try

    Ingredients:
Non-GMO Australian Canola Oil, Australian Shallots, Garlic, Chilli Flakes, Gluten-Free Soy Sauce, Sugar, Gochugaru, Fennel Seeds, Dried Shiitake, Black Peppercorns, Sichuan Peppercorns, Cinnamon, Star Anise, Bay Leaf.

Fly by Jin is taking the piss. 100 yuan for a chilli oil made in Chengdu. At least this one is made in Australia with a higher cost of production.

You are right about Chengdu, Sichuan. Their products are made in Sichuan Province, the hometown of founder Jing Gao. Their philosophy is to keep it OG, small-batch, authentic production in the chef’s home region to maintain true flavor. That explains the added cost compared to $3 bottles mass produced from other brands.

Chilli, Sichuan pepper corns, labour, bottles and all other manufacturing costs are far cheaper in Sichuan compared to Australia.

If they can sell it to wealthy foreigners due to their good marketing at 100 yuan a bottle, good on them. It is however taking the piss to sell Chinese made chilli oil for that price.

Laoganma is what $4 at Woolies.
