I don't want one or care for it, but you can't compare a smart watch to a smart ring or whatever it's called. You're paying for R&D and an early adopters fee.
Eventually the battery fails and bloats, like that dude who could not board his flight because his ring's battery puffed up.
OMG I wonder if anyone's ring or watch has caught fire on their person. Just quickly checked YouTube and found nothing. At least the batteries are small, maybe other precautions are in place too, but still.

Exactly what I thought of, frankly I don't want to take the risk. Even if the ring is not faulty, some damage could occur during use, leading to swelling of the battery, or even fire.
I’ve been using RingConn gen 1 for little less than 2 years. No issues so far with battery explosion/heating, however the battery itself has lost its capacity and doesn't hold charge for more than 24 hrs. I wrote to RingConn and they rejected as it was out of warranty, then I pulled ACL card on them and they replaced it with gen 2. Happy so far. From features/usability perspective it very happy since it tracks my oxygen, sleep pattern, pulse, etc. whilst being passive on my finger (no buzzing that a smart watch does for every alert).
I believe there are only a very few cases of battery explosions but I understand you don’t become that “one of the few unlucky” people.
No, not you pay for it, Samsung does. And it's up to Samsung to make a commercially successful product that will be sold in millions, where RnD will be just a couple dollars, or make sht product to sell 500 items and add $10.000 in each for RnD. Both cases exist on the market, and this particular one closer to the later.
