OzBargain Visitors Survey

What's the go with the survey???

Has anyone had trouble with it? Trying to claim my 'supposed' new iPhone 5 I've just won, but the website isn't responding.

If I submit my mobile number, am I going to get bombarded with spam texts?

Cheers guys & gals (and others)

  • it's all good - finally got to the YAY screen and yes it is a bit of a scam. If I sign up for $10 and pay $15 a week, I may get to win an iPhone! whoopdy-blardy-doo!

  • Huh? OzBargain visitor survey?

It's definitely not official. Where did you get the link from?

    • I want an iPhone 5!

    • Yeah certainly smells fishy. Anyone claiming "OzBargain visitor survey" definitely has nothing to do with us.

  • I didn't get a link - it popped up in my browser, even though I have just about every pop-up killer known to man running…

So, not endorsed by OzBargain? Very shifty…

@ninjastar - nope, that wasn't it at all. Shall take a screen shot for you should it ever happen again…

    • Looks like what you need is not pop-up killer. You need a good malware remover.

  • Oh. Will see what happens then…

Just for your info, it's happened again and the page says "ozbargain visitors' survey".

Whilst I applaud their correct use of the apostrophe, it may almost be considered fraudulent if you guys aren't sponsoring them.

See if you have something called "yontoo" installed, not sure if it's a plugin / extension / toolbar or something else.

  • Any news on this OP?

  • Definately MalWare (virus). Nothing to do with OzBargain. I've had it pop up on FireFox browser for say ever 5th website I go for - each time appearing it from that website.

I got it somehow despite my defences. Am running scans at the moment. Using MalwareBytes deep scan as my first.

    Sneaky buggers.
