  Is the vacuum any good? My parents have bought cheapo <$50 portable units before of various brands and names (some shown off with a bowling ball being picked up) but in practice, they never seem to be very useful at picking up anything other than dust positioned directly next to the hose (compared to a normal vacuum which has some form of suction to draw things in?).

  The answer to the vac question is yes, this style of dyson cyclonic is awesome but i would suggest you pay more and get a vax zen (with powerhead of you have carpets) from http://www.godfreys.com.au/vacuum-cleaners/types/bagless?dir… but then thats way more than the $39 of this one… But then you get what you pay for..

  As for the tools, they are ok but no range you can add to and still use the batteries, checkout the black&decker matrix range from MASTERS or just go for dewalt, makita or my favorite Milwaukee (I love the FUEL range, true power)but also BUNNINGS have awesome deals if you care to look…

  Microwave, cant go past the combo from KOGAN… Its both heat and microwave, love it (either one), beats any microwave only one IMO.

  Just do your research before the day and if you want something turn up early!

  srhardy, this is oz BARGAIN . Everything you've posted is great, but none of it has any relevance to a bargain. No links to a discount, and All 5 to 10x the cost! Besides, they're not really direct alternatives at all. Even if they were discounted, they'd warrant their own thread

  each of the comments were on topic comments for the listed items, for comparison to determine value and while true they are compared to much higher priced items its better to consider before purchase then regret after… Im buying the cheapo aldi vac for the car myself but wouldnt buy it for the home as it dosent have a (true) powerhead for carpets and lounges. But for tiles, floorboards or even pavement its awesome style.
