Mitsubishi HC7800D 3D Full HD Theatre Projector $1999 with Free Shipping Australia Wide

100

Hi OZB'ers,

This deal is a simple one.

You give us $1999 and in return we will deliver to your door a brand new in the box HC7800D 1080P 3D Home theatre projector from Mitsubishi Australia with full 2 year Australian warranty!

We have done some research today and it appears that this can be had in the USA for around $1700 but by the time you freight it and pay GST we are cheaper (and you get a warranty!) and we are about $1300 cheaper than our closest competitor in Australia selling guaranteed Australian product!

We have this model on display in our Melbourne store too if you wanted to try before you buy!

They are available for collection in our VIC store or we can send them anywhere is Australia at extra cost!

We even have them on eBay for those who like the convenience and security of that sale type…

      $1649USD + $149USD postage = $1743 AUD
As it is over $1000 customs will charge you an extra 10% GST.
      Therefore landed cost = $1743+$174 = $1917
      $1999-$1917 = $82
Then subtract delivery, handling costs etc etc.
I would say this is patently a bad profit.

You are paying $80 on a $2000 item to have the convenience of a local warranty.

      • Plus $55-00 Customs Fee brings it to $1972

    • add shipping, GST and no warranty and its pretty crappy profit for a store

Just to clear it up for marchi.

These are AUSTRALIAN DELIVERED projectors from MITSUBISHI AUSTRALIA

The model you have pointed to is the same / similar as we referenced in our link above

"We have done some research today and it appears that this can be had in the USA for around $1700 but by the time you freight it and pay GST we are cheaper (and you get a warranty!) and we are about $1300 cheaper than our closest competitor in Australia selling guaranteed Australian product!"

WE DO NOT AND NEVER WILL SELL IMPORTED OR GREY MARKET PRODUCT

Sorry for yelling … just wanted to make it clear :)

        • -5

There is no customs duty for this item, as you are not importing it. the seller will take care of everything and plus you get 2% discount on the price, if you bargain you can get it more cheaper. I have bought mine from ebay and havent paid any customs or anything, the transaction was smooth and got it delivered within a weeks time. For warranty you can purchase the mackcamera warranty which is I think an additional $75. Servicing will done in local service center and they will reimburse the cost of servicing, I agree the process will take 2 weeks but apart from that these so called local and grey imports has no different, so no offense, we are ozbargainers and no reason for yelling here unless the prices are not matched. I have purchased many things from overseas because of this stupid margin taken by australian retailers, never had a problem.

Its funny still all the australian stores are use the word "australian stock vs grey import" ..common this is 2013 and we are no more idiots to fall on these marketing gimmick.

NO offense to you matt as you are a nice person to deal with and I always recommend him from my experience.

if you didn't pay GST on your import you were lucky as it is well over the threshold amount..

I wouldn't be guaranteeing anyone else that imports it also avoids the applicable GST costs

        • +2

There is a duty for this item as you are importing it. It's as simple as that. The only reason you would not pay tax on importing something with a value greater than $1000 is if it's declared under value or simply missed by customs officers. Either way - you have to get lucky. NO offense to you, heloanand - but check your facts before you start spouting.

  • How many pairs of glasses do they come with?

    • +1

I'm going to go with 'zero' as they are "optional"

    • Hi ZXRS12,

Mitsubishi have put this deal with no glasses in this pack - they can be purchased seperately either through us or online through eBay etc.

I would love to deal with TCC all time. I got Epson TH TW9000W from them the cheapest of all and still haven't regret so far. Matt was very helpful in deciding and wouldn't doubt a thing.

    • same except I got a Benq w6000, great service at a budget price. (not sure what you mean in regards to "wouldn't doubt a thing." though :) )

would love to see a store open up tullamarine way, we really dont have that much of anything IT related up here… we do have a MSY in pascoevale i guess…

      • +1

Meant that i wouldnt doubt what Matt says or sells. I have had enough experiences before going to Matt while i bought Epson projector.

The best in Town, only downside was that i live in west and paid 24$ toll to reach TCC on east :)

I traveled twice to east and hence double the toll and Matt gave some credit for that :)

        Very happy with the purchase….

If you are prepared to sell it on eBay at the same price and pay eBay fees WHY can not you deduct those fees (or at least some of it) from direct sale prices OR throw in a couple of glasses?

    • It's a very good point. Fees are 7% plus PayPal at around 1.8%

      • +2

        gravel,

The fees we pay are a lot less than this. When you have a store, with the amount we sell, entitles us to a discounted rate on listing and selling fees with both eBay and paypal. Plus we accept paypal through our store and we do not charge credit card fees on pickup for any item!

That said though I will throw in a little something extra if you mention OZBargain in our checkout ;)

      • +3

Actually ebay fees are rediculous these days… 7.9% + 2.9% for paypal…. Not sure about business accounts though.

        • +2

I agree - perhaps eBay and paypal could do an OZB special on fees ;)

        • +1

fat chance Matt! the best ebay could do for the non business sellers in the last few years is give low volume sellers 30 free listings per month! costs them bugger all, give us free final values fees(up to a certain point) and i'll think about upvoting ebay!

  • Is this projector worth the extra $1000 over the benq W1070? Both have average black levels correct?

    • Absolutely.

They are in a completely different category!

This is / was a $4000+ unit that is a dedicated high end home theatre projector.

The Benq is good but is clearly an entry level projector at a great price.

  • Hi how does this projector compare to the Epson 8100?

Also would there be any chance of package deals including a good quality 100-110 inch fixed screen and projector bracket?
