Other price search engines show the same model at other stores too.
What is going on here? Is it a pricing error as these are generally $800+ for this kind of spec.
I've asked the stores for availability, but haven't heard back yet.

I can confirm this is a pricing error that has streamed down from Lenovo to their re-sellers. I spoke to a sales/tech person from Panther Data in Brisbane and he said it was definitely a pricing error and won't be sold for that much in reality.
So if you've actually payed anyone with your CC, I'd be trying to get that back quick smart as you're definitely not going to get your order.

As soon as I saw the linked whirlpool thread I used their message system to contact them asking them to confirm that this was in stock, no reply yet.

I did, flicked an e-mail to their orders dept requesting a cancellation.
Cheers did the same, apparently they don't respond to the other email accounts.

Well they have presented the charge overnight and $295 appeared in my credit card bill. Hopefully they will do the right thing and sort it out quickly.

If you can get any Lenovo E530 for under $500, it is a major bargain. I highly doubt anyone would process this.
Many of the online stores now just use a data feed from the various major distributors. If there is a price error (sometime a clearance with small qty) they all use this feed (with a mall set margin added). The price search engines find these & sometimes it takes a while for them to clear.

Looks like Panther Data has a E430 at $317 as well, too bad it's a i3 dual core though.

To all Ozbargainers who purchased from digital hardware (or anyone else) PLEASE check your credit card statements / online statements as the charge took 5 days to appear…
They said I should wait 1-2 weeks and if its still on backorder / out of stock then they can happily give me a refund (they are waiting to see if they are getting 1 more batch from the supplier it is a clearance item - according to them).
I rang to see what's going on and I don't think we will get any stock!
My CC has been charged also, so we will see what happens!
He told me on the phone that, they sold 1700 at that price which sounds like a lot of laptops.
I don't believe him.
I'll hang in there and see what happens.

good luck he told me to wait a week and see if they get more stock. I waited a day and then decided to cancel it. It's a great deal if you can get it but I cannot be bothered and the reviews for the site are pretty bad (the facebook page is fake setup by haters lol - took me a little while to realise its not official).
That being said at least they answer our phone calls, so if you dont mind waiting a week or two see how you go then get a refund if there is no progress.

Yeah I used the messaging system on their website initially and never to do this day got a reply, I assume that's their whole plan grab as much money for as long as possible, I'm sure there would have been people that tried to get 10 or more.

Not a bad short term loan. Or if you chucked it in the bank for 2 weeks @ 5%, that's about $880.

yeah I assume they will hold the money as long as they can to at least get the interest benefit as they are going to have to pay staff a fair bit to manually reverse all the transactions (it sounded like it wasn''t all automated)

well because it was only 1-2 ddays delay… i wouldnt expect anyone to receive stock that fast :p
That being said.. i think its also a bit of FOMOS (FEAR OF MISSING OUT SYNDROME.) Ive missed out on so many good deals for waiting and seeing if they are legit that I rather just throw my hat in each time now if its an amazing deal in case some companies honor it. I once got a sweet laptop from Officeworks and they wiped $1000 off due to a pricing error (a few of us were lucky on here).
And besides we can normally get a refund pretty eaisly these days.
Anyway they confirmed my refund has been processed today so waiting for it to hit my account - will give it 1-2 more days before i follow up.
