I hear umart has the codes, pccg is going to get the codes and msy as usually have no clue whats going on.

    • I ordered a 7970 yesterday and was told PCCG's 'warehouse guys' would include the code in the box, and my card should be arriving either tomorrow or the day after so I can confirm whether new purchases are getting them (I know some people are still awaiting emails).

  • That's actually fairly good value. 300 odd dollars for a 7950 with say $50 for Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite each so a $100 savings. $200 for a mid/high end card. Might bite to upgrade my 6950.

    • True that, but I'm more interested in the 7850 series ~$170 and you get two (presumably) pretty decent games (Tomb Raider has the most appeal out of the selection) makes the card 70$ by your calculations.

Tomb Raider has the most appeal out of the selection

        O ___ O

It looks really good, but clearly you haven't seen any Bioshock Infinite videos:

        15 mins of gameplay
        Beast of America
        A Modern Day Icarus - Part 1

        • Having played Bioshock 1 & 2, I found them meh. I don't think I even got 50% through either, Once I got over the visual appeal and very stylised environments I just found the gameplay boring and repetitive. Sure there were the plasmids, but after a while… meh

I have seen videos of the new Bioshock, and to me it just seems the same as the previous except with a new environment ie it's in the sky rather than underwater, my excitement about that lasted as long as the trailer :/

Having only seen the cover art for the new Tomb raider I am immediately more interested in that than Bioshock, it looks like something new, not just a remake in a new setting.

All that said the 78xx series comes with both :)

        • Really? Neg'ed for voicing my opinion of a game. Not worth a reply though so I'm guessing just trigger happy.

        • +1

I agree wholeheartedly. BioShock was hard to stick with. The combat is just so clunky and imprecise; especially with incredible rate of speed Jacks run at and the consolized, "mouse-moving-through-water" controls. The huge amount of plasmids, tonics and ammunition types you end up getting make it hard to have the right tool for the job and I honestly failed to see the point of vending machines, health stations, hackable security bots; they made the game way too easy (overall it is way too easy, and the enemy AI is pretty stupid; I found the Big Daddies very easy to exploit with their crap path-finding).

The story had some appeal, the voice-acting was superb and the environments were the main attraction imo, but beyond that it played like a shooter from 1999 and in all honesty if that's what you wanted then System Shock 2 was an overall superior experience.

        • Ahhh good old system shock!

    • I have a MSI 2GB 6950 as well, might not be worth upgrading to 7800. Unless you get the 7970?

  • When are the 8xxx series cards coming out (the real 8xxx series, not the 7xxx series cards rebranded as OEM 8xxx cards)?

    • Meant to be Q3 but who knows.

    • not for a long time

    • Actually they heavily hinted that high end will remain the same until 2014. Can supply links if anyone is interested.

  • +1

Was just reading the glowing review of MSI 1GB 7850 on this month's APCMag and this makes it more compelling.

    • +2

Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider are probably the 2 best games in the deal, and the 7850 is in a pretty nice sweet-spot at $180. It's a powerful card.

  • Any idea how long it'll be valid for?

    • +1

Promotion ends on 31/12/2013. Key Codes expire on 31/01/2014. Or while stocks last.

    • +1

Seriously? It's available in Australia! Did you read my whole post?
Plus you might need to wait a bit for stores to begin offering this promotion. So far mwave and PCCG are offering it. AMD's website has not yet been updated with the list of Aus retailers but this promotion is officially available in Australia. Look here - http://www.amd.com/us/press-releases/Pages/amd-kick-starts-2…. Scroll down to the table and look at the country codes.

        • Umart have it advertised on their site. Legit even..

        • Umm… did you even look?
          http://www.arnnet.com.au/mediareleases/15740/amd-kick-starts…

          http://www.cybergamer.com.au/forums/thread/463404/AMD-Never-…

          http://games.on.net/2013/02/amd-announces-download-codes-for…

The program is very similar here, one of the games is different to the US with the 78xx series but otherwise it is the same.

Never Settle was widely available and Never Settle Reloaded is rolling out, if the shop you buy from isn't offering the games then either tell them to contact their supplier or go somewhere else!

        • -1

It means you have to do a little legwork yourself enforcer103, if you have seen the PCCG facebook page it clearly shows they are participating in the NeverSettle promotion.

AMD does not have a listing of resellers because this is a voluntary promotion — ie. the sellers get to choose whether they are part of the promotion or not.

It is so far confirmed that the big three computer part sellers are participating:
MSY (some branches don't have a clue what it is, so you need to ring them)
          UMART
          PC Case Gear

        • -2

yeah like the last one mate - the vast majority of people who bought cards under the last promo never got codes - jeez - if this post isn't edited people can now take action against this site for promoting an American AMD promotion which a few stores selectively supply a few codes to for some customers. Why don't you all look up the facts instead of dumping on the messenger?

        • I clearly listed two Australian stores offering this promotion at the bottom of my post! Are you stupid or just trolling?

        • How's your job going at Nvidia?

The coupons are distributed where you buy the card so like I said if the shop won't give you the coupon go somewhere else.

        • Are you working for AMD? - but hey you did the minimum to keep this post open- AFTER your last edit - no doubt required by this site.

Voluntary promotion is not an offical AMD one and this post still implies this is an official AMD promotion which since no Australian stores were listed by AMD over 2 weeks ago is crap.

  • Are the games hard copies?

    • +1

      No, digitally distributed.

  • -7

yeah so some stores are advertising it with some cards - subject to availability. this post states all amd 7800/7900 cards from all stores.
that is untrue or if you like a lie. there are no offical Australian stores. there is no amd listing. there are is no amd official promotion running in OZ. vote for a pack of lies what do i care?

3 stores only for some cards at some point in time. pccg mwave umart - where does it say that in the title? Jeeez neg reality - it will still happen.

    • +4

      Keep digging buddy.

      • +3

enforcer is SOMEWHAT right: on Whirlpool people have been claiming some stores have no idea about it and haven't been distributing their codes (which in turn means you have to wait to get it as they get their act together).

With that being said, if you're not buying from MSY/PCCG/mwave/umart in the first place then really, you had it coming.

  • -4

thankyou for editing this false post finally - as to all the others supporting this false advertising by negging reality so as to enjoy screwing people over - what goes around comes around.

  • Damnit these deals make me want to get another 7970 to xfire just for the free games…

    • I was initially wanting one… now I think I want two… cursed mini-itx case though =/

    • Greeeeeed make the worlds goes around ?

  • So are MSY gonna get onto this or…? (PCCG shipping is expensive for me)

    • The banner is on their front page so I would say yes!

    • Can confirm that MSY Balcatta are now aware of the promo and have a whole stack of the coupons. Enjoying my new 7950 :)

  • +2

ARC has the coupons as well.

I got a powercolor 7850 from them today. and asked about it, and they said they had heaps of them. So the guy gave me the crysis 3 + bioshock one.

    pretty happy with that.

    • Which ARC?

      • +1

all of them, you need to ask them, and they only have the crysis 3 + bioshock. so any 78/79xx cards you will get the crysis 3.

it's on their facebook page too.

  • I've got a 6850. This might be enough for me to upgrade to a 7850/7950…

  • Are Gigabyte cards any good? I don't trust HIS or Power Color, but those Gigabyte cards are a lot cheaper than I remember them being…

    • Nope, nothing wrong with them (to my knowledge). Which one are you looking at, out of curiosity?

      • Gigabyte Radeon HD7850 1GB OC for $189.

    • I consider Gigabyte a good brand.

      • I know they used to be. But I thought they used to be more expensive too…

    • +1

Bought the Gigabyte Windforce 7950 - so far so good. Runs very cool and stable and is factory overclocked. Cooling solution (3x fans) is quiet and effective IMO.

    • thanks, second question, is it worth the extra $30 for a 2GB version over a 1GB version?

      • Yes. Many demanding games this days will encounter VRAM limit, get as much as you can.

        • Sigh… they tell me this now, after my order has been made and delivered.

      • Yes - will be more future proof. (I thought all 7850's were 2gb anyway?)

  • Selling my games that I got with my 7970 I just picked up today ^_^

Crysis 3 (have now - activated via Origin) - $50
Bioshock Infinite (Key available at launch - 26/3/13)- $50

    Together - $95

    PM me if interested

    • Since they are digital downloads, I think you be lucky to $50 per game…

      • He must be one of those professionals Garry was talking about :-D

        • ill sell them BOTH for $50 now thats a bargain :)

  • Are there any retailers offering the six free games when purchasing two 7900 series?

  • God dammit, I bought my 7970 in January so I missed out all this.

  • Has anyone bought a card from pccasegear.com? How long did it take for them to send you your code?

    • Yes. When I ordered they didn't have the 78xx codes yet (I was offered 79xx codes instead, didn't want Crysis so I waited), I emailed them about a week later (13th March) for an update and they sent me the codes the next day.

  • FYI:

    "BioShock Infinite - Steam Download

We will be sending you a download code for BioShock Infinite as soon as the code is available. You will receive a follow up email that contains a game key that will grant you access to this amazing PC game.

BioShock Infinite release date is on or before March 26, 2013*
(actual release date will vary by country)"

  • If anyone wants to buy one of these codes from me let me know (Crysis 3 / Bioshock infinity).
Whisper me as I brought 2.

  • anyone got their BioShock key yet?

    • Will be sent when/after the game is released, ie tomorrow?

    • Recieved mine just now (10am 26/4)
