Vaya Mobile Speeds

Hi guys,

My current pre-paid is about to run out, and I'm thinking of jumping onto Vaya.
Can someone tell me what the reception is like for Vaya? I know it runs on the Optus network, but I've heard that Optus gives lower priority to resellers.

I'm currently on RedBull Mobile. It runs on Vodafone, but I think people have a prejudice against the Voda network. My speeds actually sh*t all over my friends on other networks((http://www.speedtest.net/iphone/468961488.png), and Ive never been in a situation where I had no reception. (to be fair, I probably have been, but I wasn't on my phone at that time).

Could someone with first hand experience tell me, how does Vaya perform in crowded areas, and what are the 3G speends like?
Also, if anyone's in Adelaide, could you give me your experience on the coverage?

Thanks

  • I'm in Adelaide on LiveConnected, come from Virgin about 6 months ago and I've noticed no difference in speed.
To be fair, I don't tend to hang about in crowds too much, and if I am in a crowd, I'm not either not using my phone or not using Data on my phone.
But I was happily surfing the Fringe mobile site at Tuxedo Cat the other day with no noticeable issue.

  • Switched the missus mobile and no issues so far in Melbourne.
Just saw Kogan deal and its even better value than vaya and uses Telstra, so that should give you the best experience, on the $29 deal.

    • I'd go Boost over Kogan.
Better coverage than Kogan's Partial Telstra Network (I believe) and they have been around for ages so should have the kinks ironed out

  • I switched from Optus 2 months ago. It's exactly the same. Saving heaps
