Nikon D600 + lenses - Any great deals??

G'day,

I'm looking to buy a Nikon D600 with hopefully a Nikon 28 - 300 lens and possibly a Nikon 50mm lens as well.

Has anybody seen any good deals for any of these components anywhere?

I would look around myself but live on a small isolated island, so have to rely on internet shopping!

Regards,
Ben

  • Check DD electronic.
go for 85mm 1.8G would be better.

    • Why would it be better? If I were looking for a 50mm prime lens, I would know why I wanted that size. I'ts a bit presumptuous to tell someone what they should use without knowing their needs. People might use a 35mm if they want to mimic the eye's field of view, 50mm is flattering for portraits etc. Care to elaborate why your suggestion is better?

  • Thanks for the reply - I was also hoping to purchase Australian Stock not Grey Imports.

I'm also interested in why you recommend a 85mm lens?

    • If you have to ask, maybe you shouldn't be buying D600.
And I don't think 28-300 would be real good with D600. Go for standard zoom lens.

      • Well, I was simply interested to hear the reasons why they thought 85mm was better.

And the 28-300 is ridiculously awesome for this camera - it came HIGHLY recommended and I have absolutely no regrets.

        • bigger aperture. Awesome for portrait lens.

  • If you want Australian stock try

    Nikon on broadway- http://www.nikononbroadway.com/

  • Thanks - will check them out

  • I posted a very similar topic today, just found this.

What did you end up getting?

    • I ended up getting:
Nikon D600 Digital SLR Camera Body
      Nikon AF-S 50mm F/1.4 G Lens
Nikon AF-S 28-300/3.5-5.6 IF ED VR Lens
      Nikon EN-EL15 Battery (spare)
Hoya HMC UV Filter - 77mm For AFS28-300 Lens
Hoya HMC UV Filter - 58mm For AFS50
F1.4G Lens Sandisk Extreme Pro 95MBs 16 GB Secure Digital Card

I got it from Nikon on Broadway - absolutely fabulous customer service. Highly recommended. Thanks ynot1985 for the tip.

I was thinking of getting just the 50mm F/1.8 which is about half the price of the 1.4 but then I thought I'm spending a significant amount already why not get one that's even better in lower light conditions.

All australian stock with 2 year Australian warranty.

Price for the D600 was the best I could find for Australian stock too - $2075.
