The link you posted is for accom 2hrs Nth of Sydney. That is around 1000km's from the Grampians.

Having lived in the Grampians for 10yrs, I can recommend Grampians Pioneer Cottages. It's 10 min's out of Halls Gap (HG is the slightly overrated population centre of the area).

While I'm at it, good coffee, beers, wine and food can be had at Livefast Cafe (nr bakery in HG).
Get your supermarket shopping done in Ararat: the small s'mkt in HG is an unbelievable ripoff.
If you want to splash out some cash and try something completely different, book in for some rock climbing.

  • I stayed at the Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld last June.
The room was good, nice view and location. We also got free breakfast which was great.
It's about an hour away from Halls Gap though.

  • I've been saving up for Royal Mail's tasting menu. The Seppelt Great Western cellar tour is pretty good. Best's winery is in GW too.

My fave campsite (Buandik) just got burnt out the other week over at the Mt Victoria Range. It's pretty dry up here - waterfalls might be bit disappointing.

  • lol it came up when i search for Grampians accommodation …. I just check pioneer cottages ,, it all full :( will check royal mall

  • We stayed at the Halls Gap Log Cabins and were quite happy. Plenty of roos around and friendly owners - about 150$ a night for a 2 bedroom cabin:

Saw your budget was quite a bit more - try wotif and takeabreak to see hat you find.
