Is it legal to import Melatonin into Australia?

IIRC Melatonin is now a prescription only item that requires a doc's script in order to obtain in Australia.

However on eBay there are American based sellers peddling 3mg to 5mg strength tablets which ship worldwide.

Anyone imported stuff like that before and faced any issues with Quarantine?

If it's prescription only in Australia, I think you'll have issues.

  • Could you try this? Says 3mg. Doesn't look restricted or even "pharmacist only medicine":

    • Yeah I saw that by reading Whirlpool.

      It says:

      homeopathic ingredient

That's allowed because homeopathic products only contain the memory of the active ingredient. I don't think that's potent enough to make a difference.

No, it is allowed because it does not contain any of the active ingredient.
There is no such thing as a "memory" of an active ingredient.
Either it has an active ingredient or it does not, there is no middle ground.

At the "6X" level, would be something like 1 ml of melatonin in 1000 litres of water.
(surely someone will correct me as being optimistic on this number, rofl)

Save yourself the $17.99. You're better off taking a sip of tap water if you want to try a homeopathic remedy.

lol because it contains no active ingredients
