Looking for a decent Colour Laser MFP under $500

I've had a look at the Samsung SCX-4833FD which is only mono and not wireless, and I've had a look at the Brother MFC-9325CW which has colour and wireless but no auto duplex.. Can anyone suggest any others that have all the features as well as good build quality. Need something easy to use that's gonna last. Located in Maryborough, QLD.

Thanks

  • Samsung CLX-6260ND Multifunction Network/Duplex/Colour Laser Printer

  • +1

Look I know you said Laser, but you might find all you want with the HP 8600+ which is inkjet BUT with different inks, that do not smudge when you put water on them vs the standard Inkjets that do. (Duplex, scan print, Fax, wireless, print over internet, scan to email direct from printer etc)

Might not be what you want but worth considering depending on what your reasons for a Laser are.

Plus I got a CISS system from China for $70 shipped which reduces the ink costs dramatically and was a cinch to install.

  • Try this one:
    Xerox DocuPrint CM305df
    Will just fit under $500

  • The samsung looks ok, the Xerox looks better, cheers for the whirlpool link. I know the inkjet is probably cheaper but i prefer laser… But both the Samsung and the Xerox hasn't got wireless. Are there any with wireless under 600??

  • It is slightly over your price range but I got the Oki MC361dn. It is currently $527 at Umart (http://www.umart.com.au/newindex28.phtml?id=10&bid=5&sid=977…) but requires pre-order. I got it June 2012 for $563.78 delivered from http://www.getoki.com.au/.

I think it is a great printer, particularly given that it is full colour laser with duplex scanning and duplex printing (many claim duplex but in the fine print are not scan duplex capable, only print duplex capable or else require additional purchase of duplexor). Very feature rich printer in my opinion, won't list out all the bits here though.

I mention it even though it is slightly above your price range as I have seen it (once) on sale for as low as $399 exc delivery, so it might get into your price range. Note that it is not wireless but maybe if you can time a sale right might have head-room left for a cheap wireless router.
