I will be in Qtown for 6 days and doing some research for car rental:
At this moment, I know that Avis, Thrifty, Europcar are more expensive than the local companies.
I don't have any experience with the local car rental, I would appreciate if some of you with experiences can assist me.
I googled gorental, apex rental, jucy rental.
Go rental has a very attractive rates, how do I pick up the car once I arrived at the airport?
And are all the cars as stated when booked?
Their office seems to be around 300m from the airport.

Went skiing in 2011 and booked a car from www.queenstowncarhire.co.nz
Mike was great to deal with and price matched a Thrifty (promo) deal I found online.
They meet us at the airport to fill out the paperwork, sight D.Lic etc.
and we walked a short distance to the car rentals part of the airport car park.
We shredded a tyre going up the mountain one day, we organised for the tyre to be replaced, and then informed Mike what was happeneing. He rang the tyre shop and negotiated a better price than we had already agreed to. Insurance covered it anyway.
We returned the car to the same car space when we left QTown, and dropped the key in a box near the Tourist Info desk.
All very convenient and would use them again.
