  • meh, serves the stupid idiots right for dealing with kogan …

  • In the Delimiter article, Kogan blame their wholesaler presumably Telstra. Telstra says its not them but some other company that they resell too. No one is taking the blame.

An interesting aside from the story is the media cycle of this story.

First posted on Whirlpool March 12 —-> Autopromoted to Whirlpool's popular topics —-> Tweeted on it's @wp_alltrending account on March 13 —-> OzBargain posted it on Facebook/Twitter March 13 —-> Lifehacker March 18 —-> [News Limited above —-> Back to this thread on OzBargain :) & back to Whirlpool again.

    • Interestingly that the News.com.au story actually did not quote/link the original source, i.e. Whirlpool, whereas Ben Grubb @ Fairfax and Lifehacker (part of Allure Media, also now owned by Fairfax) did.

Also from Fairfax's article, it seems Telstra only has one reseller — ispONE, who then resold to Kogan Mobile. I guess there's only one way to find out who is at fault. It's likely that Aldi Mobile is also reselling ispONE's portion of Telstra network. If Aldi Mobile's "unlimited" plan turns out to be also limited, we'll know that the upstream reseller is at fault. Otherwise…

      • I'd say Kogan were in such a rush to get their mobile plans out they skipped over a lot of the finer details with ispONE…which is coming back to bite them now.

  • +2

    It's Kogan.
    What did people expect?

    • A mediocre product with mediocre service.

Not a completely failed and withdrawn product.

  • We need litigation on this mofo.
