  • Awesome, cant wait for them to kill this one off after i start using it.

  • Yes that's indeed a worry. It can be 5 years — after you have invested a lot of time on it and then Google realise it's not what the cool people use and they can't get any revenue from it, and then call it off…

Other than that, it's a nice addition to Google Drive, which doesn't really work without Internet connection. With Google Keep at least you can take some notes on the plane. It needs rich text for note taking though, if it want compete against Evernote.

    • Yup, Google Docs really would be a lot better if it could edit txt and rtf files.

      • Yeah my main problem with Google Docs on Android is the need for constant connection. I've been taking notes on my phone in lectures at UNSW. The problem with Optus network in crowded uni is — you get 5 bar full reception, but no data flow. So

        • I end up cannot create a new document (because data connection is required)
        • In the middle of typing up notes, Google Docs would suddenly become read-only (because data connection is required)
        • It can take ages to close the document (because data connection is required)

Much prefer Evernote's model where everything is done locally until sync. Keep seems to be done something similar, but its note taking part is a bit too primitive. Really want to have rich text.
