  • If you're looking for some great racing games, I highly recommend DiRT 2 or 3. They're a bit different, with DiRT 2's nicer visuals (in my opinion) and DiRT 3's bigger focus on rally courses. Both are fantastic played with a force feedback steering wheel!

  • probably a stupid question but the last PC game i played was quake 3. Will i have to have access to an internet connection to play it? I fly a lot and wouldnt mind grabbing dirt 3 (have dirt 2 on my xbox)

    • I can't remember exactly, but you can use steam in offline mode. Not sure about dirt 3 (even though I have it) but I think you can play offline, just no achievements and such. Honestly for a few bucks you can't really go wrong, I suppose.

    • +1

Dirt 2 & 3 requires constant internet access via GFWL if you want to save your game

      • +1

        GFWL is a bitch.

        • +1

          GFWL makes you it's bitch.

  • Thanks to the OP….great game series (if you're into racing/rally)….a bargain 4 sure!!

You can use Dirt 2 or preferably Dirt 3 to practice before the release of Dirt 4 towards the end 2013

Also if u were lucky enough to grab a copy of Greed - Black Border for free last Aug (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77427) use can use it as a trade-in for a further 50c reduction to the price.

    Downloading now….

  • Thanks for posting. DIRT 2's reviews sound good, but I don't have a steering wheel, which of these games is the most keyboard/beginner friendly?

    • +2

The drifting events in Grid are really fun, as are most other events. Some of the high class (supercar) events can get a little hectic and might be difficult to control without some sort of wheel/game pad. I haven't played either of the Dirt games. Most (if not all) driving games are significantly better with a wheel or game pad due to the variable triggers for accelerator/brakes and analogue steering vs. the toggle switches of a keyboard.

I'd highly recommend getting a wired Xbox 360 controller! You can't truly grasp a racing game with a keyboard especially without sensitive steering/acceleration

  • Grids online servers are down indefinitely, so theres no online play.

  • All three are VERY good racing games.

There's not much on the market that can compare.

  • Awesome, purchased all 3 :D

  • I only want one, Grid or Dirt 2?

I like the look of the locations in Grid better, I think. Is one of them easier for small kids? Is Dirt 2 better visually?

  • do i have to buy them separately to get the 20% off?

    • Code only works once per account

      • accounts are free to make, and each account can get a referral bonus ($2 off)? ;)

But don't do this, GMG is one of the few good online games stores around and should be supported.

  • F1 2012 down to $16! thanks!

  • Seems to have gone up to $15 with 20% off = $12 for Dirt 2..
