I think what Cardz means is that you need to purchase the Microwave oven. So the "deal" is dependent on the price of the microwave oven.
E.g. The NN-SF550W is $200 at most shops and you pay $300 for it at your local shop thinking "oh bonus tupperware…awesome deal!" (Of course most OzB-ers won't ever get into this situation…but hopefully the point is made)

from personal experience Panasonic microwaves are terrible - i bought one a couple of years back for around $179, used it for just over a year and it would stop rotating… couldn't get it repaired because it was out of warranty.
just because your Panasonic microwave failed after one year that doesn't make all the Panasonic microwaves terrible!
