  • Why do you need 3D in a Blu-Ray player? Don't you just need a 3D TV?

    • +4

No, you need both a 3D blu ray player and a 3D TV

  • I have one and find the led display is not that bright

    • Can it play FLVs and h264?

And how does the streaming work?

      Thanks

good effort from O.P but meh!
    average street price.
bought a Samsung player 5 months ago for $80. It can do everything this one can.

Are you sure the Samsung is a 3D player for $80? I have never seen any 3D player under $100.

      • You are wrong. I bought LG BP420 3D blu-ray from BigW 2 months ago for only $98. It was catalogue special. I was so happy with BP420 video quality but I found that LG BP420 cannot get DVD region codes unlocked, so I also bought this Philips BDP3380 for $118 (i.e. original price) from Dicksmith. This Philips BDP3380 can unlock DVD region codes however I immediately returned it because 1) very poor video quality compared with LG BP420, 2) NO optical output to external speakers. My opinion is: pay a little more for LG BP420. BigW is selling it for $138 which is not expensive. Hope this helps.

  • Obviously this may not have all the capabilities that more expensive units have. But it has one LAN, one HDMI out and one set of RCA out which is fine for connecting to either older or newer sound systems. A 3D player for under $100 is still a great price and it's a well known brand.
