[StartHere] Vodafone - Poor transaction tracking and customer service

Missing all transactions for Vodafone Mobile Broadband - Prepaid Plan in different purchases over the past two months or so. Every single time, I had to open missing transaction claims to get them sorted out. However, the cashback rate I got after they had located my transactions was 10% instead of 32.72% for Founder members which they advertised. Never get any reply from CS via contact us on their website.

Am I the only person receiving this incompetent services from SH?

  • I had 3 transaction done, but no money into account ( from Kogan,ASOS and Clearly Contacts ).
    I think in most of the cases wasting of time and no real support….

  • I tried using them for Dick Smith and Dominos, never got cashback on a single thing. I tried querying the Dick Smith one as it was around $25 but never got a reply.

    Waste of time IMO.

  • Vodafone — they recently changed their affiliate network so might be some confusion there.

    DickSmith & Domino's — they are no longer offering cashback. Not for 6 months at least.

    IMHO it's a tough battle for the cashback business in Australia. Sometimes merchants change terms or refuse to pay, and the middle man such as StartHere has to go through many loops to find out the cause…

    • DickSmith & Domino's — 'twas over 6 months ago. I think they were still moneybackco at the time. The only other cashback site I've used is bigcrumbs when you could get something back from Ebay, every transaction went through fine.

    When you made the Vodafone purchases we were running the offer through clixGalore and they were offering 10% for MBB prepaid. All transaction queries have been fully resolved in your favour and you have received the cashback available for those purchases at the advertised rate at the time of the purchases.

    Since then, Vodafone have moved to the OMG network and have changed rates and are now offering a higher cashback rate for MBB prepaid.

    I have handled your case personally due to the high number of missed transactions - and advised how to improve on this tracking performance - and have always replied to emails within 24 hours.

    You need to enable Email Notifications so you receive updates to your transaction queries via email.

      As said in my original posts, I did agree that all of my missing transaction claims till mid March were fully resolved after I had raised support enquires to SH for every single missing transaction. However, I did not expect it was the way how SH cashback was designed as a normal user.

      The poor customer service I referred to previously was about "CONTACT US" under Support -> Other Help. I submitted 2 tickets on March as to try to figure out the actual cashback rate but have never get a response from SH.

      Further to rates, I made a purchase on 9 Mar 2013 via SH and I was sure that the rate was gone up to 32.72% by then. Even after my transaction was verified, the cashback amount shown in my account was still 10%. Any reason why?

      I really appreciated that you replied to me so quickly on OZB but it would be much better if the same level of customer service to be seen in SH support.

    Few days ago, I was contacted by Sarah Pilot who claimed to be the head of Client Services. She advised me that the two transactions I made with Vodafone via StartHere on 9th and 19th Mar 2013 were not eligible for the new rate 32.72% because they started this promotional rate on 12th Apr 2012. I was shocked by her lies because I had opened this thread on 6th Apr 2013. How on earth I could have made the exact cashback rate up when I opened the two missing transaction cases with them in early Mar? I even sent her their cashback rates taken from their website by Google cached on 6th Apr 2013. Today, she did not bother to explain but to say "We have checked records and the transaction you are referring to was made within the period of the 10% cashback period."

    I am updating this thread only to advise OZBers who are using / intend to use SH to be aware of such an excellent customer service. They can decline anything without providing any evidence and even you do have.
