K-Mart (NSW) Performer Pressure Cleaner $59 in Store

60

I went down to Kmart to have a look at the pressure cleaner today, the have it ticketed for $79 but scanned at $59! Makes for a very cheap cleaning tool! They also have accessories available at clearance prices; patio brush attachment - $15, and two different types of brush attachments for $5-6. I couldn't resist so I bought one and a patio cleaner. Got it home and tested it, and the results were great! I mainly got it for cleaning my dirt bike which it did an excellent job of, it also has a detergent reservoir which mixes well, and the pressure is more than ample! It also has a 5 metre hose which I know is a major selling point for these devices. Only drawback is it doesn't have any storage oles for the handle or shaft, but that's a small issue and for the price it's nothing.

I don't know how long it's at that price for but worth considering if your not sure what to get or just need a cheap replacement.

  • Not recommended to use on bikes.
Personally I'd rather spend a little more on a branded product.

    • why wouldn't you recommend it on bikes?

      • It's not good for all the seals, water being forced into places that it shouldn't be.
A lot of bike manuals also warn against it.
Just one of those things I've been taught to avoid.

  • I've got one of these - not bad actually. the pressure is a fairly reasonable to wash cars without damaging the panels or leaving scratches. worth the consideration if your on a budget.

  • Does it let u pick up?

  • Scorpion 1300w pressure cleaner from Masters is a very good buy at $65

    • How does it compare to K-Mart one?

I am not sure how to choose the right one, I am thinking of buying a budgeted general purpose one. Don't want to throw too much into it.

  • I have one of these and it works fine.

However, I'm onto my second one now because the first developed a fault in the wand. I exchanged it easily enough though.

  • yep $59 at Kmart (Vic), 2 types of brushes (one with rotating bristles) $5 each, and patio brush with soap dispenser $15.

I figured I'll get one, it has 1yr warranty, and if it breaks , exchange is a no questions asked process. don't forget added bonus of 5meter hose and 5 meter power cord.

also 2000PSI is very powerful for a budget washer.

  • Just a little update. It washes bikes fine. I know about the seals and bearings etc, but I don't aim for them and its mainly if you put it on jet stream it can cause issues. I've been pressure cleaning bikes for years without an issue. If you ride in the dirt, especially mud then a device like this is a blessing!! The patio cleaner works flawlessly!! Very impressed and for $15, well worth it even if I only use it once or twice a year…

The 12month warranty at Kmart is simple. Take it back, they give you a new one. At the 11 month mark, take it back, and get a fresh unit before the warranty expires!!

  • how does the detergent dispenser on this work - is there a switch of some sort to turn it on and off?

and how about the brushes? ok for use on a car like at the carwash?

    • no switch, if there is detergent in the tank, it picks it up as the the water goes through the system. it cannot be turned on and off.

  • Can it draw water from a bucket, or only a hose? there's no taps on my balconies :(

    • as far as i know, only a hose. looks like this system needs positive pressure to get water through and then pumps it out. maybe if you had a tank or bucket of water up on a table above the unit and gravity fed the water into the pump but seems like a lot of trouble…..
