Citibank Platinum Credit Card: 1.9% P.A. for 15 Months on Balances Transferred

Moved to Forum (Requested by OP): Original Link

If you're unfortunate enough to have personal loan debts, this seems to be a good consolidation option. Note that at the end of 15 month period, the cash advance rate would be charged on outstanding balances; also, that a card fee of $199 per year applies (so that would be 2 x $199 if you wanted to take advantage of the full 15 month offer). Still, a pretty good deal.

St George/Bank of Melb is still doing the 0% for 8 months ($55 annual fee). Granted I haven't done much research.

Here is a link to long term balance transfer offers from oz financial institutions http://www.creditcardfinder.com.au/for-life-balance-transfer…

  • It'll be good if they offer these or something similar to existing cardholders. It's a dent on the credit file every time an application is made for a new card.

    • I've seen the offer a couple of times appear on my NAB online banking, 1% for 12 months for balance transfer. It's not there at the moment though.

No offence, but this at best a meh deal, esp with the $398 card fees. user izzeho offers much better option.

HSBC has a zero fee, 0% interest on balance transfers:

    • That's only 6 months though, but has no annual fee. Depends on how much you can get and are able to transfer.

  • I did this deal about 16 months ago, i found Citibank customer service excellent, probably the best phone customer service i've even had to deal with.
After my 15 month period expired i transferred my loan back to Westpac for a 9 month 0% interest rate (i paid off more than half of it while with Citibank). I think the Westpac deal is now only 6 months though.

    • Then you've GOT to try the service from the AMEX Platinum helpline. Top notch service (IMO better than Citi, yes I've had both)
