  • 100mg? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that an extremely small volume?

I know they say red krill is more concentrated but that sounds like a real waste of money to me. $4 is no bargain if you have to take 10 pills a day to get the 1G dosage.

    • That's a good point. Swiss sell 30 capsule's @ a rrp: $59.99 but can usually get it half price as they are promoting massively. So that's around $1.10 a cap, but 1G per cap. here

This deal @ 100mmgs each cap = 9G per bottle, only 9 caps of swiss.

      • Yeah a little more digging online suggests the recommended dosage of Euphausia superba oil (Krill Oil) to be anywhere between 500-1000mg and sometimes higher. Meaning this purchase would be empty in 1 & 1/2 weeks. Not taking a shot at the OP who probably didn't realise how useless a product Bioglan have released. Per dosage this is no cheaper, and probably more expensive than other options available.

EDIT: Just noticed the OP is a store rep…

      • 9 caps of swisse are worth $9.9 according to your calculation, which is more costly than this.I will say it still good price.

  • .

  • this less than 1/2 the price than at chemistwarehouse www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=65331

  • Wonder if the expiry date is close

    • Minimum of 12 months expiry :)

As someone who works in pharmacy 100mg is a very very very small dose, I had no idea they even made them its such a useless small dose.

    • They should almost be marketed as children's tablets shouldn't they. I think very young toddlers start off on a dosage similar to this :)

To put things in perspective, my 4 month old consumes approx 39mg of DHA Omega 3 daily from her formula in which DHA is added.

    Hi all,
you are correct that 100mg is a lower strength compared to some on the market, but the dose required does depend on what condition you are using this product for. For example studies have shown that 300mg of krill oil can be beneficial for arthritis and in that case this would be equivalent to 1 months’ worth of tablets for $3.99. Some people also take this product as an adjunct to their diet as they don’t eat a lot of fish. We do also stock higher strength krill oil also if that is better suited to your needs.
    Thanks, Sara Sullivan B.Pharm

    • +1 for commenting when it would have been easier to ignore. And just so you know, my comments were certainly not pointed at you, it just seemed like an odd product for Bioglan to release.

As you say, I'm sure its designed with someone in mind, I would like to see honest labelling from Bioglan to this effect because an awful lot of people will buy this instead of the more concentrated versions they really need. Based on the Bioglan website, I could not find information to that effect.

Anyway I didn't mean to threadcrap your deal, just sharing my thoughts on this particular Bioglan product itself.

  • 100mg is just about the right dose for my 6Kg Jack Russell who has arthritis.
    Thanks for the info.

both of those options are worse value than this deal
