  • very good price

  • good price even for a grey import. Anyone had any experience with the vendor?

  • wow
OP, you might want to add this is 16Gb version

  • tried to pricematch this yesterday at OW in Perth(Eastperth, Subiaco and Joondalup)and all three shops refused to match it..

    • What was the reason for refusing to pricematch?

      • probably because this is import stock and OW sells Aus stock

        • +1

Im always seeing people getting sweet pricematches so im going to try a few other office works tomorrow , with aus charger and aussie warranty worth the try

      • all three said, that it's a different warranty, so therefor they couldn't match it :(

        • That sucks,

I have always had good success price matching at subi (I price matched a gray import Galaxy Tab 7.7 a while ago when they were going cheap, with no issues).

I hope they haven't decided to tighten their policies.

  • +1

I don't get it: both Kogan and these guys say "Usually Ships in 2 to 4 Weeks". What's the reason? Who knows that in 2-4 weeks the price would not drop even further (while I'm still waiting for my expensive phone :)

    • +1

They probably get them in bulk at a good price - but they would wait until they had a lot of orders to fulfil.

    • +2

I think its just to cover themselves. Ordered SG3 form them last week, Monday the 1st received it first thing this morning.

    • I hope you dont get any issues. If you do its like a 6 week turnaround =\ ive gone through 2 S3s from kogan, total of 12 weeks i havent been able to use the phone. So basically i havent had a fully functioning s3 since day one about 6 months ago…disappointment in your life. Fortunately the price only dropped about $30 since i bought mine, but the note 2 has dropped way more

    Looking at vendor's old post.
June 2012 this phone was going for $679.
    Good price now!!

  • I'm getting page not found. Site ozbargained?

  • Since the price is now similar to Nexus 4, which one would be the better choice?

    • Nexus 4, on mine now.

    • +3

Nexus 4 doesn't have very good battery life, some reviewers say.

I also prefer hardware based softkeys rather than touchscreen ones, since the latter takes up screen space and reduces the vertical viewing area.

All personal preferences, I know, but those 2 reasons are why I would prefer SGS3.

    • I own and prefer the Nexus 4. Reasons being: Stock Android, don't like Samsung's design (too much plastic) and the battery lasts me two days with light use.

    • personal preference

      Samsung S3:
      microSD slot
      removable battery
      better battery life
      slightly bigger screen

      Nexus 4:
vanilla android - always updated with latest version
      more powerful/faster
      better screen (higher dpi/better looking)
      fragile if dropped

  • Has anyone dealt with thinkofus before?
In case there is a problem with the phone and we need to do RA with them, will thinkofus think of us?

    • Bought a 32G iPod touch a while ago - no problems

  • I am tempted to get one but I often travel in poor reception areas and Choice gave this a poor reception score- 56%.

Curiously, some of the cheaper Samsungs tested much better- Galaxy Ace Plus-85%:Galaxy Xcover-83%

    • Is there a link or can you send me a copy of the Choice report about the S3? I've always had reception issues with my HTC Desire Z, random drop outs etc - on Vodafone, Telstra, and TPG - and I was going to upgrade to a Galaxy S3 but… I don't want ANOTHER phone that appears to have signal but not be able to receive or make messages/calls/data. I'm over it.

        Good points:
        • Very good web browsing and still camera performance.
        • Good durability performance.
        • Very good performance as a music player.
        • Can capture HD video.
        • Excellent email performance.
        • Bluetooth 4.0 support.
        Bad points:
        • Overall video performance only OK.
        • Reception performance only OK.

I'll try a link but doubt it will work- members only. Anyway that's the gist of it.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is the most popular cell phone in the world in 2012, is that right? According the marketing statistics & survey . I like this deal and think it is worth my stopping here.

        • Hi, could you post the receipt again with the date as well? thanks.

        • How does the whole printing an officeworks receipt work?

Do they just apply the discount as it has been previously purchased at another office works store?

        • Doesn't matter anymore.

        • why not?

        • im not sure, but i sure was going to give it ago with a price match if the guy with the receipt posted the whole receipt, but i doubt they would even look if it doesnt have the date on it.

        • As I purchased one above, check in the Electrical and Electronics section.
I have posted my full receipt there if you want to give it a go.

        • Oops it's under Mobile in the forum actually.

  • Hi thanks for the pic but would it be possible to include.more of the reciept like the date part as well thanks heaps.

just wondering if anyone actually purchased this deal? I did and still waiting for the stock to arrive.

I sent a couple of email inquiries and also attempted to call them many times but noone answering.

I'm in the same boat as you andrew. I ordered early April. It's now May and still no phone. I called the number on the website and spoke to some guy who said I ordered the "slow delivery" version. Which is 2-3 weeks to ship plus a few more days on top of that (likely another week) to actually deliver. Not impressed at all. Very tempted to pull the pin. $19 for delivery should get a better service than a 1-month delivery time frame.

But it's a grey import though right?
Maybe lodge a claim through paypal now to be on the safe side?
