Did OzBargain just die? Or was that just me?

    It's happened 3 times to me today. Never seen that error in my OZB Life.

    I see it occasionally …. around 1am-6am probably just maintenance for me.

    Yep; happens occasionally(about every few days; however, I do work late so I open Ozb quite late as well); it's usually fix when I close the tab and then go back to ozb and it usually works

    It happens occasionally, and life goes on. It's when it's still down after an hour or two that the withdrawal symptoms start to kick in.

    OzBargain was serving quite a bit of traffic last night due to that Coles Express fuel voucher. I will look at the logs to see what went wrong.

    It's happened to me 3 times today (once just now) only lasts a few seconds then back to normal.

    Turns out our database server is struggling since Tuesday night. Load average went straight up and all the "OzBargain is broken at the moment…" message is shown when all the backends are too busy (waiting for the database) and none can serve the request.

    Might have to do with provider's "performing updates to cloud infrastructure" which also happens at the same time, but was scheduled to finish yesterday at 4AM. Looks like performance was badly degraded after the "upgrade".

    I'll be contacting them later to figure out a solution.

      FYI

      Just got the following error instead of "OzBargain is broken at the moment":

      Unable to connect to database server

      Database is off-line at the moment.

      The MySQL error was:

      Obviously the same issue but not even showing the "OzBargain is broken" page.

    It was happening randomly today Scotty, mostly earlier. Cleared quickly.

    No timeout error from the logs since I rebooted the database server at 5:30 this morning. Fixed?

      I haven't had the issue since Saturday :)
